"Google and Android manufacturers sure do a poor job marketing Android and Android phones."
Imagine how bad Nokia has ever marketed their Symbian phones.
For example. The N8 had the very best camera, can (automatically) record phonecalls, has complete offline navigation with 3D maps indeed (which is fully integrated with the addressbook and calendar, has full bluetooth transfer & syncing, has a truly magnificent loud loudspeaker, fantastic audio-recording (the most neglected part on most modern phones), full multitasking, and you didn't even had to put a condom over your head (or phone) to actually make and receive calls!
And see what a bloody mess they made!

appreciate you stating the facts, am an android user but a previous N8 user..(i miss that phone)

I personally would love these features if only Apple were not being the biggest hypocrites in the world and trying to sue everyone for "copying".
But the sheep will never admit that Apple copies and steals from others. Because in a sheep's world, Apple is god and god can do no wrong. Follow blindlessly, without question.

Wow sound like Apple did it again as they did with iOS 5. They added more Android features and now call it a new iOS!! Too funny.

The title should read *iOS 6: the new features that were already in Android but were late to the game as usual
36. downphoenix (Posts: 1987; Member since: 19 Jun 2010)
anyway, it is funny how many of these features were in android, but Google and the manufacturers did a poor job of informing consumers of it.
43. protozeloz (Posts: 5186; Member since: 16 Sep 2010)
what I've been saying all this time! If android WAS promoting its FEATURES more and more and how "It Also just works " It will be no doubt the king in all the market.... Google and the manufacturers NEED to promote their stuff more and more, after using continued dictation I have to say its awesome... where is the promotion on that? and so on and on.... all android miths exist because there is a lack in telling people more about the OS and every update
73. remixfa (Posts: 13882; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
thats the different management styles of the OS. Google is very hands off. They let the manufactuers promote the product instead of doing it directly like Apple. And honestly, with android's 900k daily sales, they are doing pretty darn good.
We are the super educated minority in this field. We expect more. the masses get told what they need to know.
115. shuaibhere (Posts: 590; Member since: 07 Jul 2012)
Sammy is doing good than other manufacturers in that field.....
116. shuaibhere (Posts: 590; Member since: 07 Jul 2012)
Sammy is doing good than other android manufacturers in that field.....
175. epdm2be (Posts: 139; Member since: 20 Apr 2012)
Actually crapsung is the ONLY one doing good.
a) they flood the market with consumer products not just phones. To create the illusion that all there is is Samsung.
b) currently also spend a signicant amount of money into advertising (e.g. that SGSIII).
185. EclipseGSX (Posts: 1327; Member since: 18 Oct 2011)
So they're crap but their good? How does that make any f**king sense? Do you lack basic logic?
174. epdm2be (Posts: 139; Member since: 20 Apr 2012)
... and Nokia did even worse.
Or even Microsoft. They completely ditched a smartphone OS with potential for an iOS walled garden copy with widg... I mean tiles!
38. jove39 (Posts: 1126; Member since: 18 Oct 2011)
So all listed new features are just catching up with Android huh...knew that already!
39. GeekMovement (Posts: 1088; Member since: 09 Sep 2011)
I am not surprised. This should be expected from Apple. Nothing revolutionary. Never. Just playing catch up once again.
And let's face it, siri is indeed useless. I can do everything myself much faster than opening up siri, talking into it, and letting the mentally challenged assistant process the information before it finishes the task.

more importantly... why did you get thumbs down for saying that? But i dont know. you could see if you could find the keynote videotaped somewhere.
80. jroc74 (Posts: 3446; Member since: 30 Dec 2010)
The thumbs down is because some folks just have to vote down anything seen as negative about Apple...lol.
I gave Apple a compliment....and still got a thumbs down. Shows the intelluct and maturity of iFans.

How about the new app apple came out with today that turns all the users into whining bitches they all are.Not to mention the boomerang app that's got all the apple users throwing there devices away.
140. PapaSmurf (Posts: 4140; Member since: 14 May 2012)
I literally lol'd at the boomerang joke.
48. spoks (Posts: 44; Member since: 01 Jun 2012)
Hahahahahahah. I cant stop laughing. Really??? These are the new things in iOS 6? Hahahahahahahaha. These were with android a very long time ago....Hahahahahahahah
82. spoks (Posts: 44; Member since: 01 Jun 2012)
Of course, Its very funny....hahaha. Apple telling people their iOS 6 is the most advance OS in the world is actually a copycat of android just make ANDROID actually the MOST ADVANCE OS IN THE WORLD...hahahahah. Poor isheeps they are celebrating now because they can experience some android features after a long time of bitching on android... Hahahahahah.
52. good2great (Posts: 946; Member since: 22 Feb 2012)
lol... so much for reading comments from people who have good things to say about the WWDC event... lol
i'm pretty sure they are intimidated to say anything...
SGS3 release articles had 1 troll which was banded that same day "RIP Eaxvac" lol
but this is ridiculous... every WWDC post is full of dead horse beating comments... you guys don't read the comments before you post? 9 / 10 there's gonna be someone saying the same thing you want to say...lol
yes Apple has implented some features that android phones already can perform... NEXT!!!
64. aikonix (Posts: 59; Member since: 08 Apr 2012)
some???????? about 95% of those features...
77. gp284 (Posts: 120; Member since: 25 Feb 2012)
you are right. you cant even have a good conversation about anything to do with apple without getting bombarded by fandroids, or just plane trolls... that reminds me, where is Taco?
53. OpTiMuS_BlAcK (Posts: 393; Member since: 04 May 2012)
Lol. Android's iris can already launch an app by Voice commands.
56. good2great (Posts: 946; Member since: 22 Feb 2012)
Why even mention an android product that's Siri spelled backwards lol
74. remixfa (Posts: 13882; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
because it just taps into voice commands, which is the android native voice app. Most of these new siri functions are not new to android. Thats the point.
141. Jobes (Posts: 364; Member since: 27 Oct 2011)
That and Iris was created by devs within 8 hours if I remember right, some competition El Goog cooked up for funsies.
210. hengnarath (Posts: 14; Member since: 26 Aug 2012)
Yes it's true by just using Google Voice that has for long only.
55. Whateverman (Posts: 3060; Member since: 17 May 2009)
Some of these "features" seem more like extensions or minor updates to what already existed. What about accessing basketball scores in Siri makes it a "feature"? And what are the other 180 "features"?
Not a big deal, not trying to flame the comment section, just curious what else was added.
59. jroc74 (Posts: 3446; Member since: 30 Dec 2010)
Wow...turn by turn navigation. At least now when my kids mother gets her iPhone 4 again,....she can use it on that instead of pulling out her Nexus S.
I will say the free turn by turn navigation is something that drew me to Android. Good movbe by Apple to finally have it without you having to pay for it.
176. epdm2be (Posts: 139; Member since: 20 Apr 2012)
"I will say the free turn by turn navigation"
Yeah, but actually it isn't free. You pay a cellphone subscribtion dataplan to actually use it. It has improved somewhat with limited local caching but it's still not the same as what Nokia offers. Nokia Maps is true free offline navigation. Present for years in Symbian and now added to the WP7/8 ecosphere.
In that respect if the apple navigation program is similar to Nokia Maps then Apple is NOT copying Android at all but Symbian!
63. johamsandwich (Posts: 31; Member since: 18 Apr 2012)
I'm suprised taco hasn't posted yet.
I like the 3D maps that Apple's doing. Their turn by turn looks really nice.. I would like Google to implement that into their navigation.
Other than that, I could care less for Siri. What Siri can do, widgets can do better. :)
66. sansam100 (Posts: 13; Member since: 11 Jun 2012)
I am an aplle fan but now disaponted because apple is able to do a lot and still doesn't deliver much in the os due to its own custom of selfishness to third parties my old N95 could lounch an app with a voice command! It was too selfish to only intergrate twitter while it was able to do with facebook, I love the device not the entire os that's when jailbreaking comes and after I have jailbroken it, android is always very backward coz I get new staf dailly
69. sithman (banned) (Posts: 299; Member since: 21 Apr 2012)
Did anybody catch Scott forstalls hint about the new iPhones screen size increase. When he said full screen safari will support the large screen retina display?
70. gp284 (Posts: 120; Member since: 25 Feb 2012)
If you dont like apple, then why did you read all of this post? If you guys apparently "know" that it will be rip offs, then why do you bother reading it? And when you talk about "redundancies"- there is nothing more redundant than android fans saying they hate apple over and over again. Its like saying your sober and then walking into a bar just to hate on everybody there for drinking. There is nothing wrong with choosing iOS over Android. just lay off...
84. spoks (Posts: 44; Member since: 01 Jun 2012)
We are here to help people who could and would be reading these articles about iOS 6 to open their eyes... Apple is suing evry company for copying and now if its them who copies is revolutionary is just Hipocrisy... I love apple before but because of all their lawsuits against everybody i gone to not anymore. I hate it when one tries to monopolize an industry by impaling anothers action to help make life of many better... Just a bunch of hypocrites... Is it human thing to do? I love technology but i cant support this one anymore...
101. Raymond_htc (Posts: 430; Member since: 06 Apr 2012)
Well said! Apple is just a sore loser that is back behind time and technology on android phone makers , and especially their no.1 enemy, SAMSUNG. if Suing in a frivolous manner wins, There is no law in the world!
211. hengnarath (Posts: 14; Member since: 26 Aug 2012)
Would you know if we don't tell? I bet you don't.
71. zhypher_23 (Posts: 194; Member since: 04 Jun 2012)
This is just poor, almost everything here is already on Android, a long time ago already. Even Better...
177. epdm2be (Posts: 139; Member since: 20 Apr 2012)
If Apple's navigation program is a true offline system like Nokia Maps then it actually IS better then Google's offering.
It's indeed funny to see all those Android fanboys jumping up and down while no Symbian users (except me) are here to "defend" their beloved platform.
191. remixfa (Posts: 13882; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
lol your misinformed.
Android has had offline mode for quite some time. Google maps is about 50x more robust in information and features compared to Apples new beta toy. Drink less apple-aid.. it will be OK.. I promise.
81. jpage (Posts: 2; Member since: 11 Jun 2012)
You can say how iOS is so far behind android yet they don't even have some of the best companies at making apps and alot of apps dOnt hit android until months after they've been on iPhone
83. networkdood (Posts: 4748; Member since: 31 Mar 2010)
wow, these are new features??? lol, so, SIRI has to be updated to improve its database, rather than just tell siri where to find the info and report back to the user what was found? WOW!!, ummmmm, these updates really are nice...but not innovative.
Good thing APPLE is an excellent marketing company and is good at push inferior products onto the marketplace. Then again, Nintendo did the same thing back in the 80s vs. Sega.
86. joey18 (Posts: 486; Member since: 20 Jul 2010)
I'm very disapointment i'm iphone user this concepts are not amazing step of push button for siri why dont say siri it opens like s voice and maps thos thins are old is not inovated so thast why apple needs to bring new amazing app for iphone 5 to be revolutionary
89. KingKurogiii (Posts: 5424; Member since: 23 Oct 2011)
"huge" is quite an exaggerated word in this article... xD

This is all I have to say
92. Forsaken77 (Posts: 541; Member since: 09 Jun 2011)
Apples' new nav software looks much better than what Google has. The closer the look to real gps functionality, the better. And Apple looks like it recreated the gps UI very well. That's what I've been hoping Google would do for a long time now. Googles' navigation is nowhere near as good as Garmins, but Apple seems like it made there's very similar. With gps it's all about the routing software used and the algorithms it uses to get you from point A to B. The look of it means jack sh!t if it routes you around the block 6 times or takes the scenic route all the time. google excels in that area. Though I'm curious to see how the real time traffic works.
207. epdm2be (Posts: 139; Member since: 20 Apr 2012)
"The closer the look to real gps functionality, the better."

WELL WELL >> Who introduced notifications first .. Android? Why the f*** dont Apple see thats this is infringing? copying ????
same thing with Offline reading .. ICS presented it last year .. and now Ios 6 has it !!
oh .. but still Android copied IOS ..
Get the f*** out of here if you think that Apple has one reasonable sense in claiming that they have been copied ... !!
