Wow! Now you can launch Siri and tell it to launch an app for you instead of doing it yourself in half the time. And as far as #18 goes it sounds like Apple has just invented Instapaper.

91. SlimSoulja86 posted on 12 Jun 2012, 01:57 21 6

But then, why is it that Apple always releases "200" features all d tym n we only get to kno about 15 to 30 of all those 200 features, something don sound ryt. And will i have Siri guiding me on my iPhone 4 or it will only b on iPhone 4S?

95. MichaelHeller posted on 12 Jun 2012, 11:51 40 2

It's just marketing. Android 4.0.4 had "a few hundred" updates over 4.0.3, but Google doesn't have the same marketing team that Apple does.

117. CharlieAtInfinity posted on 10 Sep 2012, 09:00 16

Exactly Michael, Apple's marketing is just BRILLIANT!!!
the way they show off the new features just gets the attention of new buyers even though that same feature might be present on their current phone :)

161. ChiX017 posted on 10 Sep 2012, 13:08 6

Yup! Just imagine they introduce wireless charging & a Pureview Camera tech?
That would get people bed wetting!!

189. c.hack posted on 10 Sep 2012, 23:28 8

Except 99% of those update were desparate attempts to keep Android from constantly crashing. I've yet to see a worthwhile update in ICS.

For that matter 90% of Android users still can't get the 1-year old ICS OS - pathetic Google, pathetic.

190. remixfa posted on 10 Sep 2012, 23:47 6

actually, I'm installing it on my G-Slate as we speak. I've had it on my SGS1 since december.

I fail to see your point other than your a troll.. with no point.

96. remixfa posted on 12 Jun 2012, 12:03 34 7

because every little bug fix to them is a "feature". every new sentence in Siri is a new "feature".

its tons of hype with no substance. Thats what Apple has always been good at. Giving people tons of Sizzle even when there is no steak to be found. Android is all steak, but very little sizzle. With apple is all "close your eyes and immagine the flame touching the rib eye, while the pepper and garlic roast under the flame".. Thats why its "magical". You open your eyes and its gone. With Google its. "yo, here is this big juicy steak and tons of spices. go do something with it". Its not as "magical", but u will be full when your done.

you guys are just pissed because the iPhone works everyday and android is glitchy at its finest. Not to mention you only have one device that isnt ruined, the Galaxy Nexus. Enjoy your crappy manufacture and carrier overlays.

110. xtian1103 posted on 10 Sep 2012, 08:25 9 20

dude, even the galaxy nexus is a crappy device admittedly by those who own it. sometimes i really wonder how long will it take for android to realize that they have to reconstruct the os as a whole and not only an asphalt patchwork every time their devices lag. do they always have to release a project butter every os upgrade?

119. wackypandas posted on 10 Sep 2012, 09:19 10 1

definitely not me. galaxy nexus with jellybean is not crappy at all :) oh and to your project butter joke well which OS doesn't want to improve their smoothness?!

149. infinitemethod posted on 10 Sep 2012, 11:08 6 1

I have the Nexus. It's awesome. Have never had a problem. Nice try though.

130. darkkjedii posted on 10 Sep 2012, 09:54 5 2

Uh ohhhh a fellow apple user is fighting back. I like that lol. I think ios6, and the new iPhone will b great. Android fans don't, but hey it's not their cup of tea anyway.

143. structureman116 posted on 10 Sep 2012, 10:56 5 1

I've never had an issue with my Galaxy Nexus...My wife has returned to the Apple store twice with her criphone to have them tell her, we don't know why its doing that, reset it and see if that fixes it. You can have your [r@pple any day of the week...I will stick with a superior OS like Android!

156. gallitoking posted on 10 Sep 2012, 12:40 3 7

you sir is lying. say what you want about Apple. but their customer service is award winning..

160. structureman116 posted on 10 Sep 2012, 12:59 4

Nah...I have no reason to lie gallitoqueen...Twice we were at an Apple store and twice all they could tell her to do is reset her phone because they could not figure out why it was having issues. And if you had any sense, you would have read comment #102, which my post was in response to you moron. It goes to show that [r@pple phones are not flawless. They have issues just like every other software, and in my case, more often than my GNex. Open your eyes and stop being a Lemming!

163. gallitoking posted on 10 Sep 2012, 14:00 6

so why the name calling ... I had the opposite with Android.. but instead of posting it in a forum avery chance I get. I just move to a different OS, one for adults and works out of the box not the kiddie Android that you need to tweak for it to work

203. AndroidShiz posted on 12 Sep 2012, 04:35 3 1

And jail breaking is so popular why?

166. epdm2be posted on 10 Sep 2012, 16:07 4 1

No I'm not pissed. My Nokia N8 has voice commands build in that launch apps since I got in 2010. There's nothing new at all. It has 3D maps build in since I got it. It also has 3D buildings and satellite view (which requires an internet connection and is therefore useless when actually driving).

It can even plan a route through the agenda and addressbook (when an adress is added to a contact or a location is typed with the agenda subject).

Again I fail to see what's so special, especially since you STILL can't beam a photo, ringtone, app or other file to any other bluetooth enabled phone (the same with WP7/8 for that matter).

Responding to a call with an sms? Oh Dear so passée! My phone automatically responds to callers with SMS between selfprogrammed hours, switches of most radios, go to power saving mode and activates the silent profile. In the morning (at a programmed hour) the phone automatically goes into generic profile, disables power saving mode and activates all the radios.
I can even program it to do particular stuff on locations (either using celltower positioning or GPS). That's a smartphone.

Oh did I mention that it also automatically records ALL calls even when made using a bluetooth carkit or headset? Very convenient while driving since most countries today ban calling while driving.

With Apple it is STILL only superficial crap that's being hyped up.

Nah, I´m not pissed, I'm disgusted that I still can't buy a true replacement to my smart phone. And it only gets worse. Even Nokia is making that crippled crap now.

198. iami67 posted on 11 Sep 2012, 11:17 2

I beg to differ. I work for a major carrier and have way more iphones come in with glitches and not working correctly or broken screens. And no its not because there are more iphone out there. This past yr alone android was over 60 percent of smart phone sales. Apple was only 35. So keep trolling

104. keerthisaj posted on 14 Jun 2012, 13:13 3 22

Dude, Wat r u talking thats all non sense,
Iphone they develop a feature lik siri where no other market leaders wer unable to release something lik that and u f**king call it as marketing.
thats bulls**t, i am a Iphone user and will remain the same.

Google voice has been on android since 2009( android 2.0). Please stick to your iphone we don't want dumb in our android camp..

Siri is NOT a Gimmick only for the people who are like "frog in pond"... or better called isheeep...

131. moofoodooloo posted on 10 Sep 2012, 10:03 4 16

Trust me, I'm in the business..

THE DUMBEST of consumers are in the "android camp".

136. remixfa posted on 10 Sep 2012, 10:13 8 1

yea.. not gonna trust you on that. even the national surveys say your wrong. Oh yea.. and there is my own long stint in the business as well to let ya know your wrong.

There are dumb consumers with every OS. But if your truley dumb and need it as simple as you can get, iOS is the answer. No control, few options, its all done for ya.

168. epdm2be posted on 10 Sep 2012, 16:17 1

@ remixfa: Actually you're right.

"But if your truley dumb and need it as simple as you can get, iOS is the answer. No control, few options, its all done for ya."

... and since there are more stupid people in the world than smart people....

Rest my case. :-)

202. sats.mine2k4 posted on 11 Sep 2012, 12:58

Well apparently, your not in the "Android Camp" so i choose not to trust you...

127. blazee posted on 10 Sep 2012, 09:33 12

@keerthiaj apple didn't come up w siri they bought off from a third party from the app store. And google voice was out way before siri was developed. Also im pretty sure google voice on android 4.1 has all of these new siri fearures.

135. remixfa posted on 10 Sep 2012, 10:12 6

and still quite a few more.

157. gallitoking posted on 10 Sep 2012, 12:45 7

google voice was crap and nobody ever used as it could never understand you. please dont compare it to Siri..

Google Voice is no more they changed the name and is a Siri like feauture..

201. iami67 posted on 11 Sep 2012, 12:50 1

PLease people instead of silly comments please give me facts. Why is google voice crap. Apple loved it enough to rip off a small third party company. Amnd what people didnt use it. I sell phones and pitched google voice to every customer they loved how easy it was to text play music get directions. Maybe you have a speech impediment and no one can understand you. in that case im sorry.

167. epdm2be posted on 10 Sep 2012, 16:15 3

Voice commands have been available since Windows Mobile 2003 on Microsoft's smartphone OS back then. It could do a lot more besides voice dailing including starting up apps.

In fact I've used voice dialing on old featurephones (which is the most usefull part of using voice activated commands ON A PHONE!) since ages.

And suddenly Apple makes it sound as if it is so speciall! Why? Because it use 'the cloud'... oh yeah... that's definitely what we've all been waiting for.

188. CRICKETownz posted on 10 Sep 2012, 22:42 1

first of all, bringing up voice command on a feature phone shows the stupidity of people who like to disagree just to disagree. second, Windows Mobile 2003 sucked in general so i think voice command should be the least of a conversation brought up concerning that train wreck of an OS. back in 2009 when Motorola launched its droid line that was the beginning of a maturation of voice command (yes i know the G1 was out before that...but that phone was pathetic) but it was primarily search-based in its orientation. It improved to launch apps, etc. but Siri took voice command a step further into offering more of a interpretation-based factor to voice command. No idea is original...not even good ideas, they are just improved upon versions of previous ideas which is with every technology out there. so are cars nowadays lackluster b/c they aren't the very first car? what about televisions? the hypocrisy & level of ridiculous comments made against anything that Apple does is criminal.

199. iami67 posted on 11 Sep 2012, 11:18 1

Your obviously an iphone user. Siri or vlingo or a thousand other names i can call it has been out for about 6 yrs. try again.

208. hengnarath posted on 14 Sep 2012, 10:32

Oh don't you know that this feature has been used in China for long and a chinese company is suing iPhone over SIRI feature. iPhone develops it? Think again.

112. Mxyzptlk posted on 10 Sep 2012, 08:44 1 13

113. PhoneArenaUser posted on 10 Sep 2012, 08:45 9 1

Because he wants.

150. Teejay1100 posted on 10 Sep 2012, 11:13

Very well said, and you are exactly true!! This is what people don't see or understand about how both companies do it.

155. gallitoking posted on 10 Sep 2012, 12:36 4

why do you care what Apple is. you are not a consumer. are you?

187. CRICKETownz posted on 10 Sep 2012, 22:15 1

well said for someone who is a fan of Android, but unfortunately it all comes down to personal preference as far as which OS has "steak or sizzle". its obvious what OS you support (which i'm sure for reasons that are important to you) but what i despise about Android loyalists is the mentality that you are not allowed to like iOS without being considered incompetent. all of the hardware/software features Android packs under the hood doesn't automatically equal better. Android users don't get that more doesn't mean better...its just more features. but the other side is that if the majority of those features aren't a make-or-break for someone, then can it really be labeled as better? each person's definition of "more" changes shapes based on the individual. The basis of why Android is better is always rooted in latest technology vs. Apple's passe approach. each statement you've made is based on something that you like & prefer. someone who drinks Pepsi isn't gonna praise Coca-Cola. reading the biased opinions of Android fans over & over (which saturate this PA relentlessly) gets kinda stale & less credible every time i read those types of comments.

182. ajerseyjr posted on 10 Sep 2012, 18:21 2

I Wish They Remove The Notification Bar Cause Android Created That Bar And The Facebook Integration of Pictures Sony Is The First To Created That Feature. Please Apple Create a better innovation for your iOS not copying ideas from other OS and Companies.

94. s.mrabet posted on 12 Jun 2012, 08:28 30 4

200 new features!!!!
1. siri knows sports
2. siri knows restaurants
3. siri knows movies
4. siri launches apps!! wow

I guess all 200 features are the same app....

99. Raymond_htc posted on 12 Jun 2012, 22:15 16 1

Haha! Whats the 200th feature? Siri knows how to switch off the iPhone?!

108. sats.mine2k4 posted on 10 Sep 2012, 08:18 15 2

The 200th feature is "Siri knows Android is better"... the best of em all rite?

169. epdm2be posted on 10 Sep 2012, 16:24 1 1

Hey, stop laughing at it!

Soon Siri can tell you your future.

That'll put the entire astrology, tarrot-, tea leaf- and handpalm-readers out of business.

And when the awesomely smart Apple engineers figure out how to combine the facetime code with Siri, they it'll predict when you die! By analyzing your face and voice!

Creepy!

Food for the next croonenberg, Sam raimi or Wes Craven horror flick :-)

120. phljcnth posted on 10 Sep 2012, 09:21 1

The only major change in Siri is that it can wash the dishes now.

123. remixfa posted on 10 Sep 2012, 09:24 3

it still wants to show you pictures of stallions though. but now it can find the stallions on the map.. :)

214. epdm2be posted on 15 Sep 2012, 08:43

unfortunately not for the +62 milion residents in france or the 28 milion residents in the Benelux.

In the non english speaking parts of europe (read: the majority) SIRI is completely useless!

Not to mention baseball is NOT the most popular sport in Europe. I wonder if SIRI knows if "Anderlecht" won against "Club Brugge" last week?

215. epdm2be posted on 15 Sep 2012, 08:54

Oops it seems that SIRI should be able to understand French.

Unfortunatly SIRI is useless for the +20million Dutch speaking residents in Belgium and the Netherlands. Not to mention that these are the most expensive countries to get an iPhone (especially Belgium with its ridiculously high tax-rate). Potential iPhone-customers there pay a large sum for improvements which are completely useless to them.

Well, I can only say to any Belgians or dutchmen, how stupid are you to buy an iPhone if most o/t enhancements made are a complete wast for you.

A similar situation excists in Rusia (and whole bunch of other languages) because rusian is not in SIRI's portfolio.

128. pimix2009 posted on 10 Sep 2012, 09:45 4 1

I think they should call their 200 features " Siri know to count to 200" cuz thats all there is to it.

138. Commentator posted on 10 Sep 2012, 10:25 4 1

151. Teejay1100 posted on 10 Sep 2012, 11:13 2 1

From how i look at it, number 1-4 is all about Siri. Siri can do this, Siri can do that...you might as well sum all of them up in one and make room for other tweaks that can be mentioned!!

197. iami67 posted on 11 Sep 2012, 11:14

Serious with this. Android has been able to launch apps by talking to it for a few years now. this is def not a instapaper. old news apple

2. jamrockjones posted on 11 Jun 2012, 14:58 51 9

6. QinEmpire posted on 11 Jun 2012, 15:02 5 38

now who is copying who?

10. wassup posted on 11 Jun 2012, 15:05 46 7

dude, do you have an extra chromosome?
my SGS1, which came out 2 years ago, had those features, without even installing the Facebook app.
