iOS 6 leads to first-ever drop in device satisfaction

0. phoneArena 26 Sep 2012, 07:38 posted on

Apparently, most people aren't that honored to have iOS 6 on their iPhones. As a matter of fact, the sixth version of the mobile OS has lead to the first-ever drop in device satisfaction for iPhone users, according to a survey made by research firm On Device...

true. I understand its a matter of choice and Ray has the right to choose whatever he wants but he should not be biased while presenting facts. the last line sounds very funny

A drop in satisfaction doesn't mean they hate their iPhones. Satisfaction of the iOS 6 dropped from 7.75 to 7.65. So although there was a drop, he's right in saying "it seems that users continue to be very satisfied by their iPhones". You guys are the one who's biased. You want everything to be bad news about iPhone even when it's not, and then get mad at the writer for not making it sound worse than it actually is

i guess you are the one who is mad. btw i am very sure if this news was related to samsung or android this article would have ended in a different way. just my opinion.

Because "they" only complain behind closed doors, usually a "closet" of sorts. When "they" are in public with "their" friends in front of the whole World (at that point "they" are out of the closet), "they" all put up a uniTed front, even if they can't find where they are all going on "their" new map.

The iPhone held the highest customer satisfaction by far on the market shortly before Samsung, so it sounds legit.

Well, the news is no surprise. I mean, u srsly Apple? If you dont have any ideas for iOS 6 features besides Siri upgrade, so let it be like it was...

How many times have I said that Apple customers are getting SICK of the same old same old iOS. Since 2007 iOS is identical & that has to bore people to DEATH.

Remember Nokia, & RIM. They were top dogs then people got bored with their OS. Then satisfaction went down, then they lost market share, & then they are now in REAL trouble.

At least Nokia is trying to come back with their Lumia's & innovating with their PureView tech, but STILL face a huge uphill battle. RIM is looking like they maybe gone like the dodo bird.

Apple looks to be following Nokia & RIM's proven formula on how to fall faster than a meteor. This is the first step in the downward spiral. I told you so.

NOT GOOD APPLE!!!!

"apple users continue to be happy with their handsets".

Yea, the apple users that are left. Android has over 60% of the worldwide market by itself.. Apple has 16% and shrinking which means its more and more of the crazed taking up the numbers of apple sales, not normal people. The crazy will love it no matter what.

Both my sisters jumped from Android to the new iPhone on release day, each with a 2yr contract of course. This afternoon they both said "This POS sucks, I thought it was good by what my friends say"
Me, with a huge and proud smile on my face "I told you. Your friends are not that smart" :)

Huge leaps in logic. People are disatsified with new maps therefore satisfaction goes slightly down. Therefore people are bored with the ios interface as a whole and apple will become irrelevant with phones. Come on man apple is fine and will continue to be fine. This year was about the hardware next year is software. As ios 5 was a huge leap ios 7 will be too.

Apple is not topping expected benchmarks. For example, analysts had expected Apple to sell 8 million iP5s on opening weekend. Instead, something like 5 to 6 million are sold. Whatever the reason for missing the bar, the dogs aren't liking Apples dog food as much this time around.

They sold out of handsets..... An analyst expected them to sell 8 million because Apple sold double the amount of preorders as the 4S, and since the iPhone 4S sold 4 million total open week they expected Apple to sell double of that too. But the analyst stupidly didn't take into consideration that although demand may have doubled its not easy to double production from 4 million to 8 million.

And yet, if Apple did not have 8 million iP5s on hand to sell, they didn't try to reset expectations? Puhlease. Apple would have sold the 8 million handsets if buyers had shown up to buy them.

Why not, Samsung had 9 million preorders before they even went on sale and sold over 10 million by opening weekend.

Excuses excuses.

Analists also said they overshot projections based on previous sales, not on current trends.

Ok let's all be honest here. Apple fan will always be satisfied irrespective of what service or product they receive. Cos it all boils down to brand loyalty. Everyone who Q'ed on the line to get iPhone 5 and found a chip or scratch at the back of their iPhone will till mark "highly satisfied". Don't like the iMap on my fone but I still like Apple. We rather find alternative than go to apple and ask them fix their products, and we always eccept whatever they give us. If Apple sells us iPhone 3GS and call it iPhone 5S, people will go buy it and claim it is way faster and better than the iPhone 5.

And Apple wi

Apple seriously dropped the ball with this iOS 6 update. The only thing I like is the Do Not Disturb option, the lack of Google maps is horrible. On top of that most of my apps are crashing now or will not run... wtf... I think I'll just switch back to Android soon if Apple doesn't fix this.

But now it's actually vice versa.....first comes wp8(but still not confirm what ms gonna deliver) then jb then ios 6.....
Actually am android fan but still have to accept that wp 8 is great update....but still wp can't reach heights of android......

My drop in satisfaction began with ios4. I had hopes it would continue to grow in mor of a osX sort of way. I was obviously wrong. When iOS 5 came out I was quite unimpressed and now iOS 6 for me is nothing but a backwards movement. I held on to my upgrade for the iPhone 5 but have made the decision to wait for the note 2. The IPhone is still great for some, just no longer myself.
