honor announces the Media Pad 2 tablet and Watch S1

Starting with the Media Pad 2 as seen above, buyers can expect an 8-inch, 1200 x 1920 display, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 616 SoC and 3 gigs of RAM. The slate also arrives with 16 or 32 GB of on-board storage, which can be expanded by means of the microSD slot. There's an 8-megapixel main camera with LED flash, and a 2-megapixel front shooter for selfies. 

The honor Media Pad 2 arrives in Wi-Fi-only and LTE variants. The cellular model also supports traditional voice calls so in essence, is actually a super-sized phablet as much as a small tablet. Keeping the lights on is a 4800 mAh juice pack, and the Media Pad 2 arrives in gold or white color options. Like the honor 6X, it also arrives with Android 6 Marshmallow and the EMUI 4.1 overlay. 

Price-wise, the 16 GB Wi-Fi model will cost 999 Yuan ($148), the 32 GB Wi-Fi will get a 1299 Yuan ($193) price tag, and the 32-gig LTE model will cost 1499 Yuan ($222). Pre-orders will begin tomorrow, October 19th and consumers will be able to get their hands on it next week, October 25th. 

The Honor Watch S1, meanwhile, is 35g piece of wrist candy with a circular display and water resistance at up to 50m, It falls under the category of fitness tracker rather than out-and-out smartwatch, with a heart-rate sensor and pedometer. You do, however, get some smartwatch-y features like support for notifications, and there's a strong-sounding 6-day battery life. 

Available with blue, orange or black straps, it costs 699 Yuan ($102). Like the Media Pad 2, it will go up for pre-order tomorrow, and will drop on October 25th. 

As with the honor 6X, there's no word on if or when these products may roll out to countries outside of China. Since the honor 5X did spawn an international variant, here's hoping that today's new trio of hardware reaches other markets in good time.
