ZTE Grand X shows up at FCC wearing T-Mobile branding

The ZTE Grand X has already been launched in other regions of the world, and now it looks as though the device will be available soon for T-Mobile customers based on a picture of the phone during a visit with the FCC; the picture shows the rear cover of the Android Ice Cream Sandwich flavored handset with the T-Mobile logo printed on it...

What is the point of any midrange device? For the carrier to sell for cheap or free and attract customers who want to save $200-$300 on a phone, but still want decent features.

I really am a fan of just selling last years high end device as this years mid range and next years low end. Support will remain high, prices will go down with inventory, and new phones will have to offer something more.
