Where's the update for Gingerbread devices? Considering that most Android devices run on Android 2.3.6 you would think that they would at least include those users.

Re-read the article. It's youtube version 4.0
not ICS

I'm saying where's the Youtube update for devices running Gingerbread, not an update to ICS for Gingerbread.

How to apply the preloading of videos? i try checking the option to preload but when i open the videos it still loads in a normal way and when i went out of the app, when i get back it is still loading as if im openning a new video...
is this preloading really working or just a gimmick?... can somebody help me how to do this?. thanks in advance...

You have to add them to watch later, be on wifi, and have your phone on the charger.
You'll see a green arrow next to the ones that are preloaded. If you have several subscriptions and watch laters it'll make more time to download.

an awesome new feature, especially if you have tiered data. o:
also i was hoping the 4.0 update to 3.2 powered Tablets would overhaul the app but it doesn't appear to have done so on my Xyboard 8.2.

@thelegend6657, yes you are right that ios version of youtube seriously need an upgrade, but I doubt they are going to update it soon. I think Apple is going to do same thing with youtub, that they did with the maps, if youtube for ios is not updated soon.......... :)
