Does Galaxy SIII or Droid DNA ring any bells? They should

4. Goldeneye posted on 29 Nov 2012, 19:14

The Galaxy is indeed a fine device but so ubiquitous and that doesn't make it a hot Santa present, heck! you can find the Galaxies o CL in my area for a little over $300 in new condition, DNA sure.

GS3 is a great phone but it's 6 or 7 months old, so if the sales are not spectacular that's understandable.

But if DNA does not sell well, HTC is in big troubles.

Let's face it neither of these are the handsets to have by Christmas, the hype already passed for the iphone (outdated) the Nexus sure a nice handset but the average Joe doesn't care/know about it, the real handsets the people are looking for right now are the Note 2, DNA and even the new Lumia, specially the cyan one damn that looks sick.

3. imkyle posted on 29 Nov 2012, 19:13 5

Note II and DNA are sick. I heard the Lumia is in high demand.

Nokia's front facing camera is sick. Tried comparing with even android low end phones and it fails miserably. With applications like, tango, gtalk, skype, facetime, oovoo etc marketed as the prime apps front facing camera is imp for video calls and nokia fails.

That's why Google should kick the tent pole, and begin produce the Nexus Phones in the Motorola's factories.

All other companies want to sell their own fish. LG will not impair the production of its flagships, to meet the demand of Google.

It's ridiculous a product be so coveted around the world, and not having enough stock to endure a couple hours of sale.

Curious to know how many Nexus 4's have been sold to date. Any ideas?

11. InspectorGadget80 posted on 29 Nov 2012, 21:05 1

Like anyone cares?? Most Android phones for the holidays like the one at wal mart offers a 100$ gift card for new contract or gift card. plus the NEXUS 4 offers a NICE PRICE even the 8GB sells out ot stock. SIGH just wish it have a SD card i would buy it.

13. jove39 posted on 29 Nov 2012, 21:48 1

Think google didn't expected strong sales for Nexus4...previous Nexus devices didn't sell well...but LG has done good job with Nexus4...will buy Nexus10 & Nexus4 :)

16. RORYREVOLUTION posted on 29 Nov 2012, 22:30 1

It was more on Google's end to why the Nexus 4 is selling so well. Google started selling the Galaxy Nexus for only 350 dollars, then they started selling the Nexus 4 for the same price but with superior specs, they also have done that with the Nexus 10 as well. Nexus 10 has a 10 inch display that is even higher resolution than the ipad, with a quad core processor, 16gb of storage, and the latest android build for just 399, 100 dollars cheaper than the ipad 4.

LG made the phone, yes they did do a good job of it but in the end it was Google who made the phone so affordable. Customers love value and Google has given them great value for their buck. Nobody likes contracts, nobody likes spending 600-700 on a high end phone. A lot of people like stock android with top of the line specs, enter Nexus 4.

Of course you'll find a 200-300 dollar device ON CONTRACT available to order. Can you honestly blame people for wanting to buy an amazing device for basically the same price OFF CONTRACT?
