You can make a $10 text messaging donation to help victims of Haiti earthquake
Since the devastating earthquake in Haiti earlier this week, you may be asking what you can do to help. Verizon and other wireless providers are making it easy for their customers to contribute. All you have to do is send a Text Message to 90999 with the word "HAITI" and a $10 donation will be made to the American Red Cross, which will directly go to their Haiti relief, and the $10 charge will appear on your statement. Even if you are not a customer of a wireless provider, donations can be made directly to the American Red Cross by calling 1-800-REDCROSS or by visiting the American Red Cross web site.

Ok what the Fu$% is wrong here? Im not saying helping people is wrong but this president took how long to respond to a failed attempt to blow up a plain on christmas eve and yet within hrs he is sending help and asking for donations from an already taxest to death public.... Does anyone else notice how excited he was to say his speech about the help and good deeds he is doing? The America that he despises and does not care to help he jumps at the opportunity to use more resources and ask an already hurting and struggling public to give money to help them. Out of the trillions of dollers he has put our children and there children and there children on the line for that has yet to save or create new jobs or opportunities he wants more from us???? When will he focus on "REAL" disaster relief right here at home? OR is it that he hates our constitutional freedoms so much that he jumps at the opportunity to help a communist society that he envies that was on the verge of being a capitalist society.... like i said helping those in need is not a bad thing and im not saying we shouldnt help them, all im saying is all these other countries are like f*** that we dont have any money to spare so we cant do shit, let them deal with there own problems are the ones he "bows" to on our doller!!!

Oh, really? I don't know what the country's governance has to do with people suffering from a natural disaster! I mean, I doubt if you know what real suffering is. We are all humans and we all need a hand sometimes. If you think you are in such a bad situation and don't have an extra $10 to give away, then ok. Nobody will blame you. Just pray you do not become an innocent victim to a similar disaster some day and are in desperate need of help ...

I paid my ten dollars. Too bad I can't match how much Angelina and Brad donated though.

I made my donation once i saw the news... but i must say i think it is really funny that the article says "Verizon and other wireless providers"... I just love how phonearena makes point to say Verizon but not any other carrier...this has nothing to do with verizon... ALL carriers are doing this because the text is sent to a third party company who bills the cellular company who then in turn bills you... Not once on the news did it say "verizon is accepting donations"... It said "from your cell phone text HIATI to 90999 to make a $10 donation to the red cross which will appear on your wireless phone bill"... good job phonearena trying to make big red look they have come to the rescue when they have not... next time don't put just one wireless carriers name... leave it out or name them all... you make the other carriers seem like useless crap when you say stuff like this... and for those who are donating to the red cross god bless you... ten dollars may not be much but it sure as hell goes a long way if we can all take such a small hit the help others in great need... I only wish that when the time comes that i may be in such need that there are more people as helpful and willing as you guys :)
