Lglad to finally see a Tegra4 product, looking forward to seeing how it performs against the Note 3.

I found a typo: "Size: 114mm × 72mm × 8.1mm, 141g"
The 114 mm should be 144 mm according to the source.

this all sounds impressive but what about their software? are there any info on that? can It be compared to sense which I prefer, touchwiz and other well known skins? this phone did get my attention but I need a good sounding phone like support for ultra high quality audio or to have beats (it does boost the sound quality even though its just an eq) on board. and the last question will the off contract version support europeans bands?

Who cares about the software, right? Just root it and flash a stock OS on there and it will be buttery smooth.

Probably has MIUI on it. Slap on a custom launcher and it'll feel much like a standard Android UI, but more polished. I used to run MIUI on my N1 with Go Launcher installed, and later on my OG Tab with Nova Launcher, worked great with both. MIUI has some awesome themes as well, if you're into that.

With a former Google exec becoming CEO, you can bet it will be close to stock Android... I would think.

http://techcrunch.com/2013/08/12/xiaomi-beats-samsung-to-top-chinas-smartphone-charts/

Xiaomi is already beating SS in China with their older model. SS has great world sales though so it would be an interesting competition to see who is the top Android dog if Xiaomi exported this world wide as well.

Double the performance of the Octa???
What the hell are talking about? Tegra 4 GPU has about 75 GFLOPS vs SGX544MP3 51.8 GFLOPS, which is ''only'' 50% more which is still a lot. And I know that everything is not about GFLOPS, it is just the raw performance. However Tegra 4 has better performance than Octa but it consumes more battery and more heat. Yes Tegra 4 is great in performance but not by that much.

The only phone that has caught my attention to replace my N4 and unfortunately it'll never see T-Mobile bands. Xiaomi needs to go global with this monster, $410 US for a high end 64 gig phone, take my money, please.

They need a way to get intl'l customers to want to use their services. They don't make much money off the hardware so unless they've got a feasible plan in place, they will never sell outside China. There is no benefit to it.

For the price, it's nice. But then again, you got what you paid for in the Nexus 4. Even though it was cheap with top of the line specs at the time.a

- It's screen was mediocre at best and not well calibrated
- There was issues with thermal throttling
- The camera was sub-par
- There was software bugs out of the box that took awhile to be fixed
- Finally, the Nexus 4 didn't have the most renowned battery life

My concern is, with such a low profit margin for these devices, do they essentially become happy meals? I'm pretty sure not a lot of quality control oversight goes into products with price points like this. And poorly optimized hardware and software can lead up to some of the scenarios with the Nexus 4.

how much do you think an iphone costs to make? $400, $500, $500?

nope... try $300 for the 64gb version

ask apple about quality control on a $300 phone

Well, that's the thing, this isn't an Android vs. iOS debate. I fall into the former as far as preferences are concerned anyway. But the one thing the iPhone is reknowned for is having some of the best color reproductions on a screen panel and an above average camera on release. They might cost the same amount, as far as components go, but how optimized or configured they are, is important.

That's kind of how Sony's Exmor RS 13 Mega-pixel Camera module takes better photos on the Galaxy S4 than it does on Sony's own Sony Xperia Z.
