8 gigs of RAM only? My 3-year old gaming PC has double that. I'll buy my next smartphone when they have proper high-end specs.

Lol. I'm definitely buying once it's released. I just hope they keep band 4 for T-Mobile, otherwise I'll go back to the first version.

It's just a typical Chinese online marketplace strategy to gain attention and traffic from all over the world...

Just create a listing of some awaited smartphones with imaginary specs. And wholla!!! Job done... Online tech news portals will spread the news for free of cost..

You know xiaomi's gonna stuff everything thing they can into this phone as I feel this line has now become their flagship replacing the normal mi line. Let's hope they give it a proper camera this time. I get the feeling they may be the first to implement the screen fps scanner since since they're willing to take chances more than others.

I don't get the obsession with high RAM in phones. 4GB is more than enough for all phones, with 6GB for extreme multitasking.

Its called marketing. In noobs world. I mean in every day peoples world where they have no idea about specs 8gb ram is more than 4gb ram, so it must be much better. Same applies to megapixels etc. Chinese OEM's mostly aim for marketing specs and not actual optimization and R&D. Just throw as much ram as possible with lots of megapixels and market it.

It's not just marketing, 6gb of ram is legitimately awesome.

My Mi Note 2 is faster and multitasks better than any phone I've used. This includes the S7 edge, Nexus 6P, and the Note 4.

I can have 30 apps open and have no refresh with nearly all of them.

There is no reason to load 30 tabs in memory. They can leak data in background and are a privacy concern.

4GB is enough to keep 13-14 apps and over 20 tabs in background.

I own a OP3 and honestly rarely go over 3.5 GB in real life usage.

Then again, if I was burning 800$ on a phone, I better get moar RAM.

30 *Apps.

Well there is a reason for me. I use that many apps daily, so it's very easy to switch in-between. But yeah 800 is way too much on a phone period. Mine was only 550.

They drain battery in background, which is a major issue on my OP3 since the SD820 is really bad at standby efficiency with a lot of tasks in background.

I hardly get 4.5 hours SoT. Used to get 5.5+ when I got out, but batteries age.

I'm waiting for a processor which is efficient enough to not drain battery in background, but no success. SD835 as well as 8895 have voltage binning issues, so I'll have to wait another year.

World of tank blitz with all setting set to max its use nearly 3 gb of ram alone.

So if i wana be able to play thats game and switch to a webpage ect 6 gb would be welcome.

8 gb might be a little overkill lol.

Greenify solves that problem on my phones. If you're on MIUI it will kill everything in sight as it's that way by default. You have to manually white list apps.

Yeah, and still most likely NO LOVE for the USA...since it most likely WON'T have bands
2,4,5,17 which are needed to use the LTE network(s) correctly.
