Xiaomi co-founder Bin posts photo of metal-clad Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro is expected to be introduced next Tuesday. As we've been telling you, this is essentially the same device as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 with a couple of big differences. The "Pro" employs a metal build, and features a rear-facing fingerprint scanner. The new model is also .5mm thicker than the non-pro variant.

This morning, Xiaomi co-founder Lin Bin posted a picture of the Redmi Note 2 Pro on his Weibo account. The photo shows the rounded rear camera with a dual LED flash underneath. Then comes the rounded fingerprint scanner. That makes the Redmi Note 2 Pro the first handset from the manufacturer to come with this feature.

The rest of the specs include a 5.5-inch screen with a 1080 x 1920 resolution. The MediaTek MT6795 chipset is under the hood, carrying an octa-core 2GHz CPU. This is not your typical big.LITTLE chip as all eight Cortex-A53 cores can run simultaneously. We should see 2GB/3GB of RAM, with 16GB of internal storage inside.

A 13MP camera graces the back of the phone, with a 5MP snapper in front to take selfies and handle video chats. Keeping the device running is a 3060mAh battery, and Android 5.0.2 is pre-installed. The model with 2GB of RAM is rumored to carry a $172 price tag, while the unit offering 3GB of RAM should be slightly more. We will get the official word when Xiaomi unveils this on November 24th. At the same time, we just might see the company introduce its new Xiaomi Mi 5 flagship.
