When it comes to wireless file sharing between smartphones, you have many options - such as the excellent AirDroid, Pushbullet, and Chirp. But if you haven't found your favorite yet, try Xender. It lets you share stuff between two phones without a Bluetooth, 3G/4G, or even a Wi-Fi connection being present. Xender relies on wireless in-app transmission protocols and achieves speeds 50 times faster than Bluetooth. The only requirement is that all smartphones have it installed.

Xender supports all file types, including contacts, pictures, music, videos, and apps. Up to 5 Android and iOS devices can send and receive files at the same time without re-establishing connections. There's even a "One Key Phone Change" feature that easily beams the user data from your old smartphone to your newest handset.

You can have some fun times with the app, too. Try the "Slide" picture transfer feature that lets you literally slide a photo from one screen to the next. And feel free to buzz someone or kick them out of the connection if you feel like it.

The interface is available in Arabic, English, French, Korean, Chinese, and Spanish. The app automatically configures itself depending on your device's language settings.

Xender is available for free on Android and iOS.
