Its her fault for getting hit, if there's no sidewalks and you're on a busy highway why bother take that direction. This lady was taught a lesson for her stupidity, it wasn't googles fault at all.

REALLY!!!!!!!........ could she not have found another way to make money? may i point out what the lady that worked for McDonalds did to get 3 Mill, what did she do? she pour the coffee all over her and said that the cup did not say CAUTION HOT.... or, why not just slip in the grocery store when you see a spill and no warning signs.... com on.... be creative yet cautious with your life people.....

I def wouldn't allow this lady ever to hold a gun. She would probably kill everyone with it and then try to sue Remington for not putting a caution sign on the barrel. She should be exported.

i dont know about blackberry but my navigation for my moto droid says it is still in beta so i would have to say just on that that Google should not be accountable. How did she get hit. The drivers insurance should pay. I live next to a busy high way and i see people walking biking and hitchhiking on it often and i have never heard of somebody getting hit on it. I mean did she walk int a lane.

I hope you she wins the lawsuit...yes I do. I hope she wins the money and books her dream vacation to Hawaii. I hope she goes wandering around the volcanic rock using Google maps as her guide. I hope she follows every direction to a tee without hesitation. I hope Google takes control of her Blackberry (probably a Pearl flip) and slowly and painfully directs her for days in the blazing sun without food or water. I hope she finds a map that CEARLY shows her how to get to safety, but tosses it and continues to put all of her trust in Google maps. Finally starving,dehydrated and riddled with sun poisoning she follows her trusty Google maps guidance directly over the rim of the scorching vocano believing that there is definitely a Walmart on the other side!!!!!!

You Dufus, IF it is a busy highway, with no sidewalks and exhibiting cars traveling at very high speeds, then WHY ARE YOU WALKING THERE?!?!?!? Google should counter-sue this idiot for not "exhibiting" any common-sense. If, there is construction done to the roads and things are different, and the GPS directs you to turn where there is no longer a turn, who's fault is it if you drive into a brand new brick wall? walking directions in google maps is still a beta. this means use with caution and maybe some common sense!! the lady won't get a dime in this case. america is weird people get payed for doing stupid things to them selfs and others. In holland we just check the people that do this kind of stuff to see if they are crazy. but it never happens because you don't get a dime for it here :P

I've had VZ Navigator take me on some crazy farm service roads in rural SD that no car should be on, Google Maps Navigation show that I was way out on the east side of the Upper Peninsula of MI when I was on the west side (about 4 hours away), and have been in parts of Wyoming where NO data service worked at all. We built a new bridge in our hometown and sealed off the old one so it is undrivable. But GM and VZNav both insist on me taking the old route. Point is,these are all tools to help you navigate, they're not meant to substitute for common sense.

Just used Google Maps Nav for walking directions and there was a stretch that took me along a highway, and in bold letters it said "Proceed with Caution." Also, I looked around and saw cars speeding along at a pretty good clip. I was on my bike, so I just took parallel service roads and let the Navigation auto-correct me. Did I mention I also looked around?
