With the Nexus 5 looming, the Nexus 4 is sold out on Google Play for good

0. phoneArena 16 Sep 2013, 22:43 posted on

Just about 3 weeks ago, Google dropped the price of the Nexus 4 by $100. Last week, the 8GB model of the Nexus 4 sold out, and sources said that the device would not be coming back. This made perfect sense because we've seen plenty of leaks concerning the new LG Nexus, which has widely been called the Nexus 5, despite there being no official word on naming...

I hope it is cheap as well. But I'm totally fine spending an extra $20-50 this year. After all the N7 went up in price

Darn you Google!
Apple makes an expensive phone available world wide easily, and you can't even keep up with the rest of the world. US and Europe ain't the end of the world you know...

Yup! Rather than having an Android version named after some Indian sweet, I would like to see them opening a Play Store here.

They will always be vulnerable to a Microsoft comeback if they don't understand that they can't concentrate on the US only!

Well, looks like the Nexus 4 is off my list of choices for my next phone...unless I get it through Amazon or elsewhere (which, at the time, is at a higher price than Google was offering). Guess I meditated on this stone too long...

I'll see what they offer the Nexus 5 for. If it's out of my reach, I'll pass. And no, the iPhone is not on the list. At all. Forever.

I don't think anyone assumed it was on the list

Almost bought one last week when my wife's S3 USB input stopped allowing the phone to charge. Instead I bought a wall battery charger for it. Now I'm going to upgrade to the nexus 5 and give her my S3. There's nothing wrong with it, I just find touch wiz extremely boring.

If the base edition of the Nexus 5 is a 16GB, I don't see it coming in any cheaper than $399. Google made a few caveats with the Nexus 4. No 1080 screen, no LTE, & 8GB edition among other things to allow for its cheapness. They don't seem to be taking any shortcuts with the Nexus 5. It seems as if it will have all the bells & whistles the other flagships have. That being said, $399 will still be a steal for this phone.

Good news for the used n4 market at least. No more fire sale pricing to compete with.
