Relying on AT&T’s network, we were already introduced to two specific data plan options, which were announced during Sony’s CES press conference. Previously, it was mentioned that AT&T would offer customers either the $15/month option for 250MB or a $25/month...

Higher data allowance = win. You can go wrong with an extra GB for 5 dollars. I don't know why AT&T didn't launch these plans sooner.

I don't see the point in having a mobile contract to use a gaming device. With so many hotspots around and many are for free WiFi is still the way to go. I live in NYC and am also an Optimum online customer and I have the free wifi hotspot ability as well. Why pay an extra fee when you can use your already paid for internet connection at any Optimum WiFi hotspots throughout the entire city. Many restaurants have free wifi with purchase of services(food etc.) Honestly it just makes little sense to me to waste money is such a way. I like being frugal but why would you need a constant internet connection for your mobile gaming device?

Wifi connections aren't as secure as a dedicated 3G connection -- but you knew that.

Dude u are lucky i have heard that in NYC alot of places have free wifi because my sister also told me that they have free wifi in some parks in new york because she lives lives there. Over here in los angeles not alot of places have free wifi no park has free wifi over here. The only places i seen that have free wifi over here are mcdonalds and starbucks a few food courts in some malls and its not even worth it because since its free alot of people are on it and its PAINFULLY SLOW its not even worth using it ur better off using ur 3G/4G connection since there faster ... so yea it sucks

If I recall, adding a data plan to the Vita will not require a contract. It's a pay as you go, cancel at anytime sort of thing.

Good luck downloading a 4GB Vita game via PSN Plus buying expensive memory cards with one account per device.
