Windows RT version of Microsoft Surface to be priced at under $350?

While we don't know where the Windows RT version of the Microsoft Surface tablet is going to be priced at, a contest giving away one of the tablets as a prize, is valuing the device at under $350; this will be cheaper than the price for the Windows 8 Pro version of the tablet...

Sweet! RT won't be so useful in terms of productivity as its pro counterpart, but for entertainment it should be perfectly fine. Yeah, I'll be buying one for sure!

i hope microsoft will make a crazy deal on the day it will be available like $99 for surface RT and $199 for Surface Pro!! LOL that would kill iPad!
but anyway... it is a decent price!!! $350 is ok... the galaxy note tab is same with price with iPad but the sony xperia tab is at $399 only! so microsoft will surely gain popularity and market share if this is the price of the RT version and so is the Pro version..
but asus beat them by announcing vivo tab Rt and Pro with LTE on it! wish they have LTE connectivity.. even though its not necessary but just in case! coz as for me wifi version is ok!

$500 bucks for the Pro and $350 for the RT - that's pretty slick pricing if its true.

I don't know how much the Surface RT will cost, but what I do know is that there is no way Microsoft- who has managed to keep everything associated with the Surface secret they want kept secret- told the "For Dummies" people their Surface pricing strategy.

Sorry but the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is a iPhone killer and a tablet killer rolled up into one. Call me when Apple or Microsoft copies Samsung's Note series.

I too admire the versatility of the Note 2, but come on. You may be laying off the Apple juice, but smoking way too much of whatever Samsung's putting out there. The Note is certainly a good means to pay for one data plan and have a phone with tablet like utility, however, the only tablet sales likely to be hampered by the Note are there own.

I seriously think that would be a sweet spot for pricing, IF it´s true. I will still take it with a lot of salt...
Steve Ballmer said it won´t be the cheap option, and that price is lower than most of hte Android tablets with similar specs.

If it comes with the keyboard for that price then thats a pretty good deal that might help Microsoft play some catchup. I still have too much invested in Android for myself, ios for the fam to invest in another mobile os platform such as RT, but the full featured platform the pro version is brings is certainly on my wish list price pending. None of the other manufacturers proposed pro version look anywhere near as good as Micrsofts

Ugh, just when I accepted paying $800 for a tablet PC. Now im unsure again. This is why you need to release prices Microsoft. So people can make plans and people need to make plans on a purchase if it's going to be hundreds of dollars. Microsoft can be genius and completely stupid all at the same time.

This is the first time I actually find a pricing rumor on these surface tablets to be legit.

Folks I look at the pricing of current Android and current Windows 7 tablets to gauge what a Windows surface RT tablet will cost. I think a good low price would be 399 for the low price about 499 my best guess price and 599 to match the price of an Ipad
price at "best buy" that has 32gigs and WIFI just like the lowest Microsoft RT surface
has in the side by side specs ratings

folks the current best buy price on the web for the Ipad with 32gigs and Wifi only which match's the Microsoft Windows Surface "RT" in specs is 599$ therefore My best guess price for the Microsoft Windows Surface "RT" tablet computer is 499$ without the crafty nifty Keyboard cover. and 599 with the keyboard cover. Microsoft knows that to make any headway in the Tablet world it has to sell it's Windows "RT" at least at the same price spec for spec as the Ipad 3 Apple calls it the New Ipad I call it the Ipad 3.
Now if Microsoft sells the Windows RT at 499 with the Keyboard cover it will sell pretty well world wide. People will buy because of it's cool design and it has Microsoft Office built in..
