Exactly. Cuz if it sells 6 times faster than the overall smartphone market ....it would be growing alot faster and it isnt. And I dont know how they call being a few % points away from BB firmly in 3rd place.

MS and their wishful thinking... :)

I dunno man, I have an OG Samsung Focus and that thing still runs really smooth. Wish I could say the same for my Galaxy S, which has nearly identical specs BTW.

I also have a Galaxy S, runs just as smooth as my brother´s Nexus 4. But mind that mine is rooted and running jelly bean 4.2.2.

That is true about the specs but Android is doing a million more things that WP can't & isn't doing. So that is what you are noticing.

If you were to format your Galaxy S you will see it will perform 100% better than it is right now.

WP OS will be smoother because IT just can't do what Android can. Especially with the older specs you are talking about.

Now compare your Focus to my rooted Android 4.2.2 HTC Droid DNA overclocked at 1.7GHz & even with all that my phone has I bet you it will be smoother than your WP.

Android also does something else better than WP8: it helps open doors to a variety of malicious sources that want to steal your personal banking information. Android is great for spreading viri, and other unsavory code...

You're just helping me prove my point. Sure, Android has better features, but if you want a smartphone that'll hold up better in the long run (hacking aside), nothing compares to WP8, it's that well optimized.
Okay, now give my Focus the same features and specs as your DNA or my Nexus 4, it'll be just as, if not more fluid.

Again that's because WP just CAN'T DO what ANDROID can.

Now let's put all the same Strain that Android handles on WP & it will be slower than a snail, no matter what specs the WP has. It can be the BEST specs or the worst specs.

Android as an OS is from the future compared to WP. More complex & mature. WP is like a child that is 2 years away from Puberty.

That is my point.

i had a Samsung Focus and also a Galaxy Nexus. Galaxy Nexus had more features than the Focus though but the Focus was more dependable. Its always been fluid and smooth with no FC's. Android ,if i may say is for really advanced users. But if u want a platform to cater for your everyday normal duties its gonna be a Windows Phone. It jus does it.period..On a more serious note , what really cant WP do???

Now, before some random retarded troll replies to solomonsteve's question, and talks about the apps, or lack thereof, get your facts straight! Most of the commonly used apps are on WP, so unless you're some retard who finds solace in using weird apps, WP got you covered. Instagram is pretty much the only app missing for normal people, but then again, it's coming soon.

So, really, you're just going to show how stupid you are by talking about apps, because you can't back it up anyhow. Customization? Sure, Android is better at that, but that's what makes them different. Why would you need to customize? When it comes down to it, it's because you find the stock UI too boring and mainstream for you. Well guess what, WP's UI is the exact opposite. It's a joy to look at and it's fluidity and beauty makes any customization irrelevant. I know retards like to customize, but the majority, and I mean, normal people, simply couldn't care less. Think about it, although Windows it much more customizable and flexible than Mac OS, its worldwide adoption doesn't simply rely on that feature. It's just that much better than Mac OS when it comes down to user experience. So, as solomonsteve put it best, the user experience of WP is so much better than Android. Less buggy, less laggy, no custom ROMS to f*** things up (Hell, you just need custom ROMs to make your phone look retarded and work more "efficiently.") Talk about customization and complication. Oh, did I mention simple UI, fluidity, and downright beauty? Need I say more? No, that's right. Now, unless you can provide any valid counterargument, any futile statement to prove us wrong is just devoid of logic and borderline paranoia. You're just gonna go full retard and make an a** out of yourself.

+1 solomonsteve :D

Second paragraph is total opinion, which works for you but not many of us. Personally, as long as they have the tiles, I'll never buy a WP device. I believe the tiles are what keep people from both WP8 and W8, it just isn't catching on like MS thought it would. Speed and options really don't matter much when you have to look at tiles EVERY TIME YOU TURN YOUR DEVICE ON. MS missed the boat and totally screwed up, and if it wasn't for Nokia, they'd be dead in the mobile world right now. Even with Nokia, they are still single digits market share. There's far more to a device than just how smooth it runs.

I agree.

I look at tiles every day when I step into my kitchen & bathroom. I REALLY don't want to look at EVEN more tiles, ESPECIALLY on my nice Nokia Mobile phone.

With Android I can make my phone look like anything, EVEN a WP. Not that I would want that. lol

lol try switching from android or iPhone to WP and you will realise how s**t the WP app store is, I realised most of my apps are not on their and I'm talking about useful and important apps as well as games. Fanboys like you won't notice until you actually use an android phone or an iPhone.

I'm not gonna talk much about the WP tiles Ui cause all you said was just BS. Now why would normal people prefer looking at a block of tiles 24/7 over androids customisation that you can change to suit your personality and preferences?

We're not talking about the survival of Android in the face of overwhelming lack of security. Rather, it's a selling point for WP8, because it doesn't have the same security loopholes. Why do you think so many people bought MAC computers? Also, WP8 is more intuitive and easier to use than Android, which validates the MAC vs PC comparison...

Microsoft numbers are most likely correct, and I do see Nokia spearheading robust growth for WP8 devices. It's time for WP opponents to accept the truth, and deal with the fact that the 3rd Ecosystem is already here, and is not going away any time soon!

So many ppl bought Mac computers but its still a niche player in the desktop, laptop world.

Thats my point.

If 3rd is a few % points away from 4th and 5th, Android was in 3rd place when it launched. I always thought Android started at the dead bottom. But hey, what do I know....

Intuitive.....strange word. Cuz whats intuitive to you may not be to me. Case in point...sooo many Apple, iPhone fans said the exact same thing about iOS. But Android was alot easier for me and ppl I know to pick up vs the iPhone. Me and many I know started with Win Mo. So if Android was easy to pick up coming from Win Mo, how is it less intuitive compared to WP, which is so different than Win Mo? I have to believe everyone that says Android is complicated or not easy to use.....havent really used Android. The button placements is almost identical to Win Mo. So are you saying Win Mo was complicated? Cuz there are many similarities between Android and Win Mo.

Skewing data to fit their needs. When it goes from 3.3% to 9.9%, it's easy to say the growth is of a faster rate then the competition because the competition has rates far superior to the single digits MS is seeing. While growth is a good thing for them, until they make third place less than a far distant position, they shouldn't mislead with skewed numbers.

Android is still better (MAYBE!!!!! for some people.)
1.Better Notification Bar (for now lets see what the notification center in 8.1 brings)
2.Wider range of devices (only because more maufacturers make android devices than windows phone devices. Most are android devices are JUNK.)
3. More manufacturers (Most of these manufactures make Junk devices. Makes android look bad.)
4.Better Multitasking( This is not the case mutitasking in WP is pretty seamless. and easy to switch apps/games.
5.Custom ROMs (most people bon't use these)
6.Better Syncing (Not really so!! That depends on the device and manufacturer)
7.Set apps as default.(This is one thing that it does better)
8.Browsers with flash support ( This is anouther. I get by without flash just fine.)
9.Larger app store, say what you like but WP still lacks chrome and many other brilliant apps I use daily. (Larger is not necissarily better. alot of apps in the WP market store are really well developed apps. some better than android.)
10. More customization, check out the website My color screen. (my screen has color too.)
11. Its Open Source! (this is not always a good thing either. Open source is a slippery slope)
Need I go on or have I proved my point? (Please!!!)
