0. phoneArena posted on 18 Jan 2013, 22:39
Windows Phone has just crossed the 20% line in Finland as Microsoft's mobile OS now powers 20.24% of the mobile browsing in the country; Android has a slight lead on iOS and the combined Nokia platforms, (Windows Phone + Symbian+Meego+S40), dropped from nearly 70% in January 2010 to its current position near 30%...

it's not because Finland is home town of nokia ..you can see in the graph Nokia shares dropped rapidly when android entered the market and of course iOS as well but now because of WP the shares are up...hope to see this graph in every country.....
Go Nokia...... Get your crown back as the "King" in Mobile industry...

That's 20% is Nokia Lumia for sure ...nothing else at least not in Finland...Nokia itself holds 30% shares including it's symbian.... rest 60% iOS 30% and Android 30% may be....
and another thing 30% android means all the Droid makers ...I don't know how many Droid makers are there in world...every day a new manufacturer....

Android is dominating worldwide, they don't nor are there any signs of concern for Nokia WP8 cause they are right at the bottom and always will stay there. They will stagnate with along BB, while Android then iOS will rule! Lmfao Android worrying about WP8, please they the world knows WP has been trying for 8 years and its failing! What a joke!

may be WP was struggling from past 8 years...but this time WP is offered by Nokia..the worlds trusted manufacturer ..Nokia can make any OS popular..... that's what we call a real player....

Sometimes I think its the other way around, considering how much on top sammy is. Android is on top and sammy has played the biggest part.
Nokia are holding on to ms.

SS and Android need each other. But SS can't be nowhere nearly as successful w/o Android while Android can cope w/o SS with only minor problems.
The key here is the Android ecosystem which GG controls while SS hardware is just on par with HTC, Sony...
What SS does better than other OEMs is promotion, but look how much money MS and Nokia spent on ads.
It shows that ads won't work w/o a strong ecosystem.

But where has Android + iOS share dropped by 20% from that graph? Can Alan or someone explain that please. I don't see that 20% coming from iOS+Android fall even if i magnify the graph ...
20. rusticguy posted on 19 Jan 2013, 06:26 3
From what i see is that there's a drop of ~5% (iOS) and ~1%(Android) from their respective peak positions so that's the max that Nokia gained from others if the graph is to be believed. Balance 14% is Nokia's other loss to windows ... again that's a presumption because from whatever anayltics data we see for sites of our clients (US/India) windows on mobile is averaging around d 3.5%.

Windows Phone 8 is picking up traction in the European market now on the account of Windows phone price points. Its great to see Windows Phone market share increasing. I am still awaiting the Russian and Italian market!!

Of course, the circumstances about Finnland are different to e.g. the U.S. market, but why should anyone be less worth than another one, just because he was born in another country?
Thought we left that behind...
Kind regards from Central Europe

How is Finnland any different? From the charts they appear to like Android as well. Looks like me and the Finnlands have something in common. So do the majority of people outside the US.
Don't get it twisted. WP has no love in any country. Stop your nonsense.

I am glad to see that Android is popular, and it's really great to see some of these people bashing WP8: the cyber-criminal community couldn't thrive if not for the huge amount of malware and viri embedded in Android apps. It's worth remembering that cyber-criminals are people too, and stealing credit card information and other forms of identity and data theft would be far more difficult if more individuals were using WP8, ...
The cyber-criminals of the world wish to sincerely thank those who support the Android platform, and diss other more secure mobile OS's. They appreciate you helping them fill their own bank accounts with your money!
