We all know how the old saying goes – slow and steady wins the race. There’s no way to tell where Windows Phone will eventually end up, but what is for sure is that it is slowly gaining ground...

Reminds me of what they do with their XBOX 360s - lose money on the hardware - make money through their xbox live subscription, zune and marketplace purchases, and make money on software, in general - same with Sony.
It is a good strategy, until the money runs out....if it does.

Amazon is doing the same thing with the Kindle. And they seem to be doing well.

I wanted to get Lumina 900 bcos I used to use HTC HD7. The os is so smooth even though it's on single core processor. But why would I want to settle with single core when there are quad around the conner?

but why would you want to settle with quad core when they can't even run as fast as a single core?

I gave you a thumbs up.
You are right. The Tegra 3 on Android (as great as it may seem) really won't compare to upcomming dual-core WP8 devices.

everyone mobile makers are waiting to see how nokia's wp phone will do. if it's a hit then there will be flood of wp phone in the market but right now, with the bad economy hitting europe and elsewhere, everybody is just sitting in the corner and waiting for the results even though they already have a wp phone in the market. and nokia is slow in coming out with their wp phone.

That is the effect mostly of AT&T's, and to some extent TMO's, support for WP7. That will improve further when WP8 comes out and when Verizon joins the fray. I'm new to the WP platform but I already love it, and although I'm not with AT&T, still would like to say thanks to AT&T! And to TMO, thanks too and please bring in the Lumia 900 soon!

why isn't nokia releasing the lumias in the middle east? nokia is really popular here, what's the matter?! aren't we good enough for your windows phone?! you keep throwing at us your symbian phones?!!! this is really annoying.
I'm selling my nokia and going with either sony xperia s or motorola droid razr.

1% may seem kinda low, but everything has to (re)start somewhere. And, the gain is attributed to the 900 alone. Not bad.

People want smart phones that have a lot of High tech and lets face it although Windows
7..5 mango runs very very well on Single core CPU chipset smart phones with a midium
resolution touch screen people want more technology in their smart phones. The Windows 8 smart phones will give Windows smart phones all the High tech Goodies
The next problem Microsoft has to handle better is explain what Metro tiles are so People will get over the fact they might not look Pretty but have a function and are designed to give a Metro UI smart phone, Tablet, desktop, or Laptop user Rectangles and squares with data in them that can easily see and read with their eyes THAT IS WHY THEY ARE BIG AND BLOCK Y LOOKING.There are 2 types of metro tiles the Dynamic metro tiles have data in them that changes. the static metro tiles have pictures letters and numbers or both that does not change they are like super sized desktop ICONs or Short cuts you touch or mouse click to access an Application.once People understand the why of metro look they will accept them and use them.even though they may not look pretty

Slow and steady at first... fact is, even though WP has been out for over a year, it is still relatively unknown to the average consumer. Once the marketing settles in, and the good word spreads, and the overall exposure to it increases... then the sales will follow and grow at a quicker pace.
