Turns out that the upcoming Windows Phone Tango update, besides lower screen resolutions, which we've heard from the very beginning rumors about it started, would also bring in the possibility to run well on less RAM, to the tune of merely 256MB, which is what 2010 Symbian devices like the Nokia N8 are using, for example...

so if for example the nokia l900 gets the tango update it will be faster than before
usually updates make phones slower

its not really going to be a huge difference on bigger handsets. this isnt reimaging the entire line, this is just making it capable on running on cheap prepaid style sets. There will be enhancements for the big guys as well,obviously, but the focus of tango is to open WP7 to the world of prepaid which can make it a hit in emerging markets like africa and china. The next update, apollo, will be the big game changer for the big handsets.

dear microsoft, Please bring bluetooth file transfer and memory card support for your devices!! Just don't act mean to the customers the way apple been doing.

the blutooth transfer part.. maybe. the memory card part is more for profit margins than piracy. why allow people to buy a 32 gig card for 20 bux on ebay when you can be like apple and charge them 100 for the same 32 gig card by building it into the phone.

Just get around to doing it, than. 16 G is not media friendly. 32 G on decent devices, and 64 G on an elite device or 2. WP really has no excuse not to after Apollo.

Why not! Apple is the company which is best at exploiting its loyal costumers. So, it should exemplify such incidents of consumer exploitation.

The original samsung focus had a memory card slot so the OS does support them. The problem is with how it uses that extra memory. Its not at all use friendly which is why most manufacturers omit them i would think.

Ok. Now all i need is for someone to port WPTango onto my N8. Waited for Meego and that did not happen. At least WP7.... :P

This was a huge selling point to get Nokia onboard. Sorta like some manufacturers see feature phones as vital to their bottom line, Nokia sees these sales in emerging markets as mothers milk to their profits. Nokia is chomping at the bit to get after that sales pie.
