Windows Phone Tango interface leaks - same visuals, new features, only 256MB of RAM needed
0. phoneArena 16 Feb 2012, 03:56 posted on
Multiple item and voice recording attachments in MMS, as well as data roaming management are said to be in store with Tango. Apparently the entry level Windows Phones will warn the owners when they try to download an app requesting more than the minimum 256MB of RAM to run properly...

While its great to see the ram usage so low its not a surprise as wp menu big block ui has been likened to that of the comodore 64 era so cpu power usage can easily handle it

where are apple fans, come comment "thats fragmentation"

That would be Android fans; you see, Android users don't want to be the lone fragmented game in town and disparaged by all of OSes, so they want some fragmentation company, as all misery does.
IOS and WP are a little more similar in approach, than Android.

What a cheap marketing strategy by Microsoft!
I've discussed about the failure of the whole 'Tango' concept in my blog today...
I can't remember any 256MB android phone being incompatible with any normal app.

Really? But where did you read that Tango wont be compatible with normal apps? It is stated that this restriction will be for RAM hungry apps... Can't remember Android phone that isn't lagging... with any RAM...

So, Samsung Hub or whatever can be seen in that screenshot is a RAM-hungry app? So RAM hungry that even 256MBs of RAM can't handle it?
Even Symbian handles super-heavy apps and HD games with 256MB RAM.
Android doesn't always lag. You can atleast install all apps. and there is a scope of overclocking the device to run an app smoother than before.

I've used Motorola Defy, Fire XT, Samsung Galaxy S, LG Optimus Net... I never found any of them lagging.

No. It. Doesn't. I have a SGS2 as well and have NEVER experienced ANY lag whatsoever. And yes, I know the definition of lag. Maybe you and your other lag buddies just don't know what you're doing with your handsets. When I had my OG DROID there was no lag and when I had my EVO 4G there was no lag. I will admit though that my Nexus South 4G lagged like a mother. And Android isn't the only OS that lags. All OS do. When my wife had the iPhone it lagged and my friends WP7 handset lagged as well so you all really need to quit it with the only Android lags comments.

Yes, Samsung's app is a hungry one. If it's on the screen shot and it is written that it is, so it is. But the app itself has weather animations, news feed, curency feed and smth else i don't remember, so it's not so basic.
And yes, Android always lag, even Google confirmed it by explaining why there is lag, and why they can't and wont fix it. And for the clocking bull***t, how many people clocked their devices? And why there is need for that? If an app is not smooth on that device it should not be available, but hey what the hell... it's Android...

There is no lag on any os.
Its just android isn't as smooth in scrolling.
Its just shutter.
Android's response priorty isn't set to high.

And who says ios is smooth. I hate it when people talk that trash, the iPhone 3G wins hands down when it comes to lagging yet no one complains about it..iOS 5.0.1 lags too.i know cos I have an ipad2,safari lags sometimes and so does the keyboard.apps crash like craze too. The only os that doesn't show any change in smoothness will be wp7.

Agreed!! iOS devices tend to be VERY smooth for the first few months, as of late and especially with iOS 5 my iPad 1 has been lagging all over the place and crashadocious. (new word)

I think they should concentrate more on dual core and quad core support for now. This way they will never make it to android
