It would have been near comical - especially after the Skype purchase - had front facing camera's not been aboard. There is a large segment of buyers who make cameras one of the highest priorities on their devices. I know- I am married to one. She is trusting me completely to make the decision for her on her next phone, and I have a list of possibilities for her that has Android pretty much the main option because she wants a high end shooter on the back and a front facing camera. So while I am excited for W7, I cannot recommend them to my own wife yet. THAT really bums me out. This is a must for Microsoft.

And this move will make the carriers boycott WP7 even more than they do at the moment (please not, this is not anything hateful or negative against WP7, i'm just telling the facts, in fact i've been doing some surveys on this)

@peterfronmsweden . i think you are more clever than microsoft. they know better what to do. This is so simple to block skype on phones which are sold via carriers. e.g. i got an O2 xperia x10 and skype was not working on it. later, i found it has been banned on these phones. SO, dont think you are more clever than the BIGGEST_BRO. lol

If the carriers want to ban WP7 phones because of that, I'll get mine unlocked somewhere else and put a SIM card in it. Simple as that.

But the thing is, most phones are sold from a carrier on contract.

Not on Amazon or ebay.

i know that, but the average consumer usually walks into a carrier store and buys his / her phone there with a contract.
