Any word on further support for MeeGo? It was supposedly going to be supported until 2015 but. .. No update has been sent in over a year :/

i dont think we need to expect for that! even there's a lot of petition about bug fix, it just wont come anymore! :( sad because of elop, and i remember the team behind N9 now leave or fired by the MSFT sh!t dog now form a their own company, jolla! so updates for N9 aren't coming! :'(

i really love jolla, they believe on their abilities to think outside of the box! we all know how futuristic MeeGo/N9 is and we are sad and angry about the decision made by the blind and heartless CEO! and just looking at the new sailfish OS, we all know that it will triumph! we all know that nokia's fanbase will loose and real nokia fans will now go to the real nokia which is jolla!

all hail JOLLA!!!

MeeGo is still an awesome OS, to bad Elop killed it :(

11. xperiaDROID posted on 16 Mar 2013, 21:55 4 4

Elop killed MeeGo, and Symbian too. Elop is an OS Murderer!

12. Timmehor posted on 16 Mar 2013, 22:44 4

Well Nokia has teamed up with Jolla, and they didn't "kill" Symbian, they just put it on pause.

13. xperiaDROID posted on 16 Mar 2013, 22:48 2 3

But they said before Symbian is dead.

14. Timmehor posted on 16 Mar 2013, 23:09 4

If it was dead, they would of sold of the patents and completely sack the Symbian team.

15. xperiaDROID posted on 16 Mar 2013, 23:14 4

Ok, I was wrong about Elop, sorry about that. No matter what, I still love Nokia.

19. Timmehor posted on 17 Mar 2013, 03:18 3

I respect Elop, he may of caused a part of the drop in revenue and popularity, but he's been able to pull a company from a 1$ billion loss to a profit in ONE year. Now that's good business skills.

i think the only symbian device they support is pureview 808
cuz my nokia E6-00 is only good for calling, sms, and whatsapp
no update and the worst is no usefull free apps

16. jedpatrickdatu posted on 17 Mar 2013, 00:12 6

Symbian was already dying with Nokia long before Elop became CEO, so don't blame him.

As for MeeGo, yeah Elop killed it.

Thankfully windows have seen the light and are going to improve therein Achilles heel now just combat the app store and then we have a good competitor! Long live wp8!!

Why does windows phone 8 need to be supported if all windows 8 devices will be upgraded to windows phones 9?

8. blackeye117 posted on 16 Mar 2013, 19:45 2 1

Because Then There Wont Be Windows 8 Devices they'll be called windows 9 devices .

4. NateAdam8 posted on 16 Mar 2013, 16:18 4

I just hope they keep it up by doing what they say cause it feel like most WP Devices can run up to WP10

5. Credo posted on 16 Mar 2013, 17:20 4 1

If we could see a 7.9 update i would be happy !
Keep the good work up Microsoft !

6. papss posted on 16 Mar 2013, 17:48 6 1

Support seems to be WP8 thing these days.. I love all the updates.

9. CardiWPfan posted on 16 Mar 2013, 21:10 2 1

It is important to note that support might end for Windows Phone 8 but by that time all Windows Phone 8 devices will get Windows Phone 9 Update anyways!!

17. UdhaiyaPrasanth posted on 17 Mar 2013, 00:30 1

Guys, I'm no techno-geek.. Just a normal user with a lot of interest in knowing about smartphones and other stuffs... So this question might sound plain stupid to most of u here...
But I was wondering if there is any way to back up the text messages and applications in WP7.5?
I need them to be alive so badly and I've kept my phone away from the 7.8 update only to save those.. Is there any way I can update to 7.8, but still have my apps and texts?

18. aco96 posted on 17 Mar 2013, 01:18 2 1

Windows phone is geting better every day. I'm definitely switching to WP :)

23. yudi.nemesis posted on 17 Mar 2013, 04:52 1 3

thats not a good idea because even nokia still not sure of wp phone future, you can convert to android and buy nexus devices but if you love nokia so much wp is good enough

That's another bait by the cunning MS to lure more fish. A lot of people will never forgive them for what they did to Lumia 800 and 900 which won't get WP8. Pathetic effort MS.

25. predator93 posted on 17 Mar 2013, 13:08

It would be great if they can keep up with the promise, but considering the speed at which the technology is improving I expect a lot of hardware exclusive features coming up with the next iteration of windows phone which may not be supported by all the phones.

27. tswsabeer posted on 17 Mar 2013, 14:37 1

And where is symbian now? Nokia dumbed it's old fanbase and now they will pay for that. Typing this from a Nokia 603.
