How many attempts has MS made at a mobile phone O/S? 3? What is the saying - three strikes and you are out?
I wonder how the folks at Nokia are feeling about their decision to jump all-in to WP7?

Nokia is effed up. They refused to accept android and don't you remmeber what "BIG THINGS" they were saying last year about themselves?
They even compared android os in nokia to a man peeing in his pants(something like that, google it)
now they failed at making symbian better, failed at meego and now WP7 is going to fail them.
3 strikes...nokia OUT!

i think if this will be the reality, well, wp7-has no future than..
mango needs to be out BY JUNE-SEPT
regarding- nokia and other OEMs- im sure that in the labs- everybody is producing everything.. So, will not surprise me if nokia comes out with a beautiful andro handset in sept, or revamped symbian UI... Or, hell, even better blackberry os-(or qnx)- device...
that goes for other aswell- htc, lg, samsung....

nokia and android? I don't think so
"nokia: using android is like peeing in your pants for warmth in winter"
and after this statement even if SHAMELESS nokia comes up with an android phone, people shouldn't buy it.
this is what happens when a company thinks we are everything and everyone else is sh*t

A) speculation until MS says its delayed
B) this is just an OTA rumor. That doesnt mean nokia cant launch handsets with it preinstalled as some sort of WP7 exclusivity to push nokia sets. The same way Motorola got first dibs on android 2.0 and sammy got 2.3

ok, if they continue like this, no way they gonna be competitive

Still no updated update for my samsung focus either. I am really trying to have faith in you microsoft, but I'm starting to believe that I completely wasted an upgrade on a wp7 device.

I don't understand how it's March and there is already speculation that this update won't be pushed until next year. Are they really that far behind?

this set back would not be as big of a blow as people are making it out to be...

Let's get real here. if this rumor is true, it will hurt the growth of WP7 ecosystem somewhat, but it won't be an immediate major problem for any WP7 OEM, including Nokia. There is no reason to assume that a single WP7 device launched in late Q3 or early Q4 could sell more than a few million units at the most in 2011, or roughly the same as Nokia N8 sold in Q4 2010. Even if we assume that the WP7 device would sell 50% more than the N8 did, which is unlikely, it would still be only 5-6 million units.
We are not talking about the iPhone here. None of the other manufacturers' single smartphone models sell double digit number in a single quarter. Even the Samsung Galaxy S sold only 10 million units in six months. Other reasonably successful smartphone models sold less than that; only the iPhone 4 sold more.

Fail. Im really thinking about giving Android a try. At least their up to date on their technology

Really?? Maybe you should look into it more they're not up to date. Just talk to any of the Samsung phone users.

DONT BLAME ANDROID FOR THAT.
I own a galaxy s and yes we were stuck in eclair 2.1 (usa users for almost a year).
It wasn't google's fault. software was available. It wasn't samsung's fault either. It's our shitty cell phone companies which caused the delay.
Android updates every 6 months. Do your research

This is just stupid to read. That's like saying iOS 5 might be out in two days! No one knows until the company ( Apple or MS ) says anything and as far as I know MS hasn't said anything about pushing it back to next year.

Totally agree, all hear say. I clicked on the source above and it was a source of a source. Yeah not going to look to much into the validity of it.
