I know a lot of people dont like wm, I have a touch pro 2 and a droid. TP2 is my personal phone and the droid is my work phone. There is a lot of things that my WM phone does that droid doesn't. For instance the outlook calander on my WM much easier to use than the calender built into the droid it supports cut and paste out of the box. the phone book can be orginised by first or last name if you want (a big deal if the device syncs with you company address book) streaming audio support rocks on my wm I can go to sites like the mobile stream center and grab radio from around the USA and listen live (this does not work at all on the droid) some other things like WM multitasks quite well and comes with a task killer built into the OS (blackberry does not do this and you can get a app for droid). I can also install my apps on the phone memory or my sd card to save space. Video support and video output are great I have put movies on my sd card and plugged them into a tv or projector. in conclusion there are some aspects that could be a little easier to work on WM but it is a great os and should not be overlooked

Why even bother. By late 2010 nobody will care about WM. I have tried 3 WinMo phones in the past year including the highly touted Omnia. I have a Droid now and cannot believe anyone could live with WinMo. - When wifi even worked (usually it didn't), it was a pain to manage. - Multitasking was painfully slow. WM frequently locked up requiring frequent reboots - Droid runs for weeks while installing / uninstalling dozens of apps and never slows down - WinMo sync is great when it works - Vista stopped recognizing my Omnia and I had to repair the Windows registry. Repeatedly!! - WM phones have the old style plastic resistive screens that are unresponsive even before the required screen protector. I have compared the latest WM phones side by side with Android and BB capacitive screens and the WM screens suck. I could go on and on about how bad WM is, but this article says it all. While all other vendors (even the conservative RIM) are rolling out OS updates, WM users have been stuck with OS 6 for years with no end in sight. Bye bye Windows Mobile. You will not be missed.

Anyone with half a brain can work WM. If you had problems maybe its because you don't know what you are doing. I admit there have been previous wm phones in the past that weren't up to date but please the new phones do not have these same problems. The new resistive screens run without any problems and recognize every light touch plus are cabable of much better display colors as proved by the omnia II. I had the omnia I and it was a terrific phone. Never one problem. I would also like to add that I am loving the omnia II. By no means am I knocking the droid, think its a great phone. Just defending WM because I know how good it works when you know how to use it.

ive had the omnia, and a slew of other WM phones have graced my hands. pap. While, if you had nothing to compare it to it would seem fine. we are pretty much all used to windows and its quirks. The problem is it is outgraced in most every way by the competition. blackberry, apple, android, all lightyears ahead of WM. Sure, there are things that WM does better than the others, but its very few things, and there are too many bugs. glitches, power issues, ect to over look it, unless its required for work. 3 of 4 windows phones i sell (and thats very few compared to android or BB) comes back. You can put a prom dress on it (HTC Sence UI) but its still the same crap OS. They need a huge huge huge overhaul to catch up to where everyone else is now, not even where they will be this time next year!

I find this artlicle in no way shocking that there is a delay in WinMo.... I think the microsoft needs to stop developing the WM kernal from the Windows CE base and do just like apple and build a mobilized version of Windows 7... The hardware in mobile devices (ram, 3d graphics cards, processors, etc.) is good enough to run full versions of windows XP pro!... SO WHY NOT DO IT!???? I am a huge fan of microsoft products and love my windows mobile phone... but come on... if anyone can make some fantastic software it is microsoft... they just need to start from the ground up all over again like Palm did with webOS.
