Microsoft said that they were going to keep both platforms, as WP7s will not meet the needs of everyone. If all you need is a phone for MS Office documents and received Exchange email, then a WP7s model would be wasted on the user. WP7s is for the power user who wants to expoit as much as they can out of their device. So like half of the iPhone users, as I have talked to several people and all they do on their iPhone is talk, text, and occasionally use the web, so the extras the device does are wasted on them. I am a power user, 2-3gb/month of data, 1000 text, and 50 minutes, i don't care about talking, data and multi-media is where it is at.
