Windows Mobile 6.1 rumored to appear in February 2008
Rumors on the Internet “scheduled” the release of Windows Mobile 6.1 OS for the 3GSM show in February 2008. The differences in the operating system are said to include improvement of the WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. But the most significant alteration will be the carousel interface, similar to the Treo 500v’s one, developed by Microsoft and Vodafone. The user will have to switch between different tabs and then scroll up and down to choose an action. The first devices, using the 6.1 version are expected to be released in May 2008, but whether it will be available as a free upgrade for Windows Mobile 6 devices is still unknown.
