Windows Blue to replace Windows 8 in just a few months?

So, as we all know, Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 have both only been on the market a short time, but rumor has it that Microsoft may already be getting ready to release an OS update that supersedes both to an extent, called Windows Blue, and it may even replace Windows 8 in just a few months...

sounds like it basically could be a service pack update to Win 8

Agree, I don't believe MS has enough innovation to make a new distinctive Windows version every year.

It's not a question of innovation, it's a question of priorities.
Microsoft can't push out an "iMap quality" OS update and still expect businesses, they're biggest customers, to take it laying down

I think it shoud be about innovation. It's different in mobile where updates are free, in PC ppl have to pay.
So in MS new model I think many ppl will be fooled to upgrade w/o much value for money.

PC = no problem, we use Microsoft.
Phones = different story altogether.

MS and Intel are the reason of stagnation in PC industry. Time and time again we witness great ideas were killed or robbed by MS and then there are no more innovation but MS.
I hate monopoly.

How can someone hate Monopoly? its one of the best games i have played on my iPad. You can play it alone, you can play it with friends. I have never played such an addicting game.,i just cant stop playing it.

I think it's not an update from Win 8.
Maybe Windows Blue is just another OS which is looks so much like Win 8 but less feature. Offered for free, so everyone can try to love the looks of Win 8. Then, they'll trapped buying Win 8.

Interesting. If this article is correct Microsoft wants to make seamless experience on all their devices.

Yes, good idea for Microsoft. It will eliminate the fractured nature of their Eco system.

I really hope Microsoft doesn't name their next product Windows 9.
If they can't think of a good name, they can't make of a good product. (what happened to windows 8) ....and with Apple :D

I bought a decent Gaming Computer with intel quadcore i5 processor, nvidia 620 graphics card, 8gb ram, expanable to 32, 1TB of memory, and a really awesome cooling system all for 600 dollars. Too bad it's running Windows 8, I have had nothing but issues with the OS and I have only had it for 2 days now.

geforce 620 and u call it a decent gaming computer?
12. RORYREVOLUTION (Posts: 3108; Member since: 12 Jan 2010)
For its price and out of the box yes. Its easy to buy a new graphics card later.
15. RORYREVOLUTION (Posts: 3108; Member since: 12 Jan 2010)
Decent as for what the price I paid for the desktop. You might be think spending 3000 on a computer is the way to go but for only 600, yes its decent.

It's a decent gaming computer for the price. People think you have to have the best of the best but you can't always have that if you cant afford it. My favorite spot to get the best for cheapest is newegg. Some like tiger derect I think it's called but I like new egg. You can go there and yes if you build from scratch and build it yourself you probley can get a better computer for that price but what you got it is not that bad of a computer. I think one of the important part is getting motherboard that can be upgraded easily. I got a slim line gateway computer thinking I could upgrade it wich the instruction say you can but the problem was is I could not get a power supply box that alowed me to upgrade any thing and no memory chip would go into the machine without an error. So even though you might have got a decent computer make sure it can me upgraded easily.
Also pay no attention to people that make fun of your coment or somthing you bought without actually giving a reason why and a alternative of something better. Those comments are of no help and I think should be moderated out of the coment section because it's just as bad as trolling.

I might be in the minority....but I think MS is moving too fast on the desktop side.
Look how long XP was around and allowed to become one of the most stables OS's Microsoft has. IMO....Vista was given up on too quick. If it wasnt for trying to keep up with MS I would still be running Vista now. Look how fast Win 7 came out. Then 8.
Many might not know it, but when XP first came out, it was considered a mess. All these years later and its considered on of their best OS's. XP really didnt get better until Service Pak 2.

I agree, I still use it in a dual boot set up. Eventually I will go Win 7 all the way, its time I start taking more advantage of my PC specs.
I have Win 7 64bit, XP Pro 32bit. Dual core machine, E8400 Intel cpu. I need to add more ram too, have 2GB right now. Looking to get my first quad core soon.

Microsoft might wanna try their best to push everyone to windows 8 or blue or whatever they are going to call it but I do agree that they need to polish and make their latest OS as stable and user friendly as possible but they seem to just wanna jump to the next OS. I cant blame anyone for sticking with XP.

I don't think it's that long of a time and they do update there OS a lot with updates coming out all the time it just does not seem like it because like android they don't come out with versions like 4.1 to 4.2 they just come out with security updates as soon as there ready and it does not make it windows 8.1 or anything just updated version of the same system. I think the main goal was to integrate all platforms and if it works wich I hope it does it will make there tablet and phone sectors grow fast because a lot of people still use windows and it will make it so you will want a windows phone maybe. Pluse even though I still am loving android I am excited about trying my hands on a windows phone. If verizon would have got a lumia 920 or whatever it is called instead of the 820 I would have got it. I here it is an amazing phone. Especially when it comes to the hardware involved besides the processor. It has a amazing camera and recording capabilities

ok i know i might get some strife for this but XP is no longer amazing. True its still usable but the support for it and what you can do with it versus the current is far and far between. Just like the first xbox or the playstation one or even the first android device, its time to put certain things to bed and move on.
32. RORYREVOLUTION (Posts: 3108; Member since: 12 Jan 2010)
I'll gladly "move on" from XP when they finally stop releasing new OS's and make them stable.

If Windows Phone becomes like Windows Desktop I will switch from Android because right now Android is the closest thing to Windows Desktop.

If this is true, then Microsoft is finally coming to their senses
