Windows 10 Mobile is getting a convenient “Reset App” feature
A neat new feature, called “Reset App”, will be making its way to Windows 10 Mobile in the near future. Although nothing groundbreaking, “Reset App” will allow Windows 10 users to roll an app back to its freshly installed state without having to uninstall and install it again.

According to a blog post by Italian publication Aggiornamenti Lumia, the feature should arrive with the next Insider preview sometime this week and will be made available to all in the Windows 10 Creators Update slated for release in early 2017. “Reset App” will appear in the “Advanced” app options in the “Settings” menu and will let users wipe data on per-app basis.

The feature is very similar to the “Clear Cache” found on Android, which allows you to wipe cached data for each app, should something go awry.

If you want to get the new feature sooner than later, you will have to enroll in Microsoft's Insider program. You can do so by following these easy steps:

  • Download the Windows Insider app from the Microsoft Store
  • Launch the app and log in with your Microsoft credentials
  • Choose a ring — Slow or Fast — depending on how quickly you want to get your hands on early builds. Fast ringers get them quicker, but the releases could be unstable.
  • After you're done, go to “Settings” > “Phone Update” > “Check for Updates”, and you should see the latest preview build of Windows 10 available for download.
