And what about my Note 10.1 Sammy? This tablet came out last year and has similar specs. This is the reason why I switched from a Note 2 to iphone 5s. Their showing more love to newer devices first.

There is a very big chance that the Note 10.1 will get updated, not to 4.2 but straight to 4.3, also the note 2 will get updated to 4.3 around October and November, you have to keep in mind that Samsung has many devices and it takes a lot of time to update them, by the way, every company shows more love to the newer devices, they attract more buyers and they need to have the latest features, but they older ones like the galaxy s3 will still be updated.

Every company but Apple. 3 year old iPhone 4 had iOS 7 2 days before iPhone 5s was released. Every Android oem cares about sell first upgrade much later. And it doesn't help that Verizon locks and relocks bootloaders screwing people out of updates. Pitiful if you ask me.

When are you going to learn android updates aren't like apples? Too bad the iphone 4 is still behind any 4.1 device. And it's also too bad apple takes away certain features on devices every upgrade. Stop acting as if apple updates every device and they are perfect!. Besides sammy has way more devices to worry about then ol apple.

A 3 year old iphone gets the update. But, how many features does Apple cut out. In essence, it gets that device's version of the update. A 1 year old 4 didn't get siri even though it was easily capable of running it. Also, what good is the update when it only brings features another OS was doing years ago? Your note 2 still does 100 more things that your new, updated device can't. That's an update in name only.

I just purchased the note 3 (never thought I would say that) but figured it's the best for what I'm intending to use it for (productivity) and so far it's been great. Big learning curve as this is my first phablet but I'll get there. As a wp8 fan this os usually isn't my cup of tea but I will give it a chance.
