Why won't AT&T support MMS on the iPhone 3G S at launch?

Is there a major technical issue involved that prevents AT&T from allowing iPhone owners to use MMS right now?...

Come on think for a second. Why would Apple want to adverise calling, something everyone phone can do (some better than others though). It smarter to advertise something that sets you apart from the competition. Fake commercial: "This is an iPhone 3GS. Press here to access the phone. Press here for voicemail. The iPhone has 4 hrs of talk time...." hooray!! Now Apple will sell billions. The Blackberry storm commercial didn't talk about the actual phone part. Neither did the palm commercial or G1. The Voyager wasn't adverised as having great call quality. Instead it was know to be the iPhone killer with the first touch screen and full qwerty keyboard. The lg chocolate just talked about the heat sensitive buttons. The instinct was also the iPhone killer with GPS, faster Internet, and Sprint TV

Bye Bye Verizon. I hate my vx6800. worst pda ever. It has been replaced 5x's. I was trying to wait for a good replacement to come out, and it finally did. Going to get the iphone!

Enjoy a $hitty network my friend. I'll be that dude that bumps into you somewhere actually making a call instead of wishing my great multimedia phone COULD make a call.

I rather have a so called $hitty network than a phone that cuts off, the outside buttons don't work, and I'm tired of getting replacements. All that and I still pay over $100/mo for what??? the network please. I'm tired of getting r$ped by Verizon! I've been with you since 98. There's only so much one can take from a carrier.

VERIZON IS LIKE THE UNCLE THAT BOUGHT YOU A TOY BUT MOLASTED YOU......LOL. ATT IS NOT GOING TO BE ANY BETTER. YOU SHOULD JUST GO TO SPRINT AND GET YOUSELF A PALM PRE, AND SAVE SOME MONEY WITH A NICE PHONE. * NOT THAT THE IPHONE IS NOT A GOOD PHONE I JUST FEEL IS WITH THE WRONG NETWORK.

While I do applaud Apple for FINALLY bringing the iphone into a league with every other basic cellphone out there with features like MMS, and adding some decent, although probably hardly ever used features (I'm looking at you Compass feature), (I already have a compass with BB Maps), it still resides on a cell phone network called FAIL, er um AT&T. When it comes to VZW then it might stand up in actual functionality. I do actually look forward to that day when I can actually make up my mind whether to go with BB or iphone on the only worthwhile network in the States.

I've got to be honest...I'm a quite disappointed with Apple. I mean, they're big announcement about the iPhone this year is that it'll actually get to do everything that my Storm can all ready do? (And if I'm going to drop that bomb, let me throw in there that my Treo 755 could do most, if not all of that as well...) Lame. BB Storm FTW.

Good thing I work for Best Buy Mobile. Hopefully I can just go into AT&T's system and remove the MMS Opt Out and make it work.

i personally think that 70 is a bit too much where as to other pda devices along with blackberries is 60... i think that they are just trying to make the iphone stand out since a lot of business owners use them and they will pay. why dont you little prima donas concentrate on the topic and stop worrying about the fucikng spell check... holly fcuk
