Why do women prefer using the iPhone over other smartphones?

Oh iPhone! You seem to be a big hit with the ladies. Apple’s pride and joy is undoubtedly a dynamic piece of tech that’s bursting from the seams with plenty of personality, but interestingly enough in my experience, there’s just something about it that make women...

The Lumia 900 design has been recycled more than the iPhone 4/4s...N9, Lumia 800, Lumia 900.

That's 3 for the Lumia, assuming you are correct; I didn't double-check.
For the iPhone we've got iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3Gs, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S
That's 3 to 5.
Do you have 3 more examples for the Lumia to support your statement?

Your optometrist misses you if you really believe the iPhone 4 and 4s look anything like the 2G, 3G, and 3Gs.

You're right. That last one doesn't look "anything like" the first 3.

lol, I wish. she is way too opinionated for that! I've tried to get her to buy galaxy phones and other devices and she wont hear it. She likes her HTCs and Sense (blah).
Though she is totally in love with her Nexus 7 anniversary present. I totally hit it out of the park with that one. :)

Hah, you found yourself a good one. She probably dealt with a lot of annoying hipsters I'm guessing?
102. remixfa (Posts: 14255; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)

And they all say "because its cool" or "because my friends had one and i thought I should have one too".

It's a social thing. If you look at it from a pyschological stand point, it's about the "click" and everyone having one. Media and advertisements are what drives people to buy products. Apple is just really good at marketing their product, even if it's complete crap. It displays that you aren't "hip" or "in with the times" if you don't have an iPhone. Most of my friends have the iPhone 4 and 4S and I've shown them that even my windows phone pulls apps up, downloads and makes all around everyday task simplier to do and at a faster rate. But, I didn't brag about my phone like they do. I know my phone's capability, doesn't mean I need to show it off to everyone and their mother lol.

Last I checked women aren't quite smart when it comes to technology.
People who don't know any better will follow a trend.

bingo....even my wife calls the iphone, a smartphone for dummies. It really is...and that is not a bad thing as it introduces people to the world of smartphones.

It's a status symbol, nothing more, why do you think some women love coach purses? It doesn't do anything that any other purse can't, they just want to look stylish and as if they have some sort of status and wealth. It's the same thing with the iPhone, most people still think that only the extremely wealthy use iPhone so they buy it because it makes them look cool. So, basically, Apple is nothing more than the coach of the tech world, overpriced junk sold at the price of gold.

I wonder what happens if there was a Coach branded iphone...

It's a pretty phone. And let's be honest, most of them buy this phone because it's pretty and they can buy pretty cases for it. I have yet to find a woman that can explain why they like, want or purchased an iPhone other than the fact that it was "cute"!
I don't want to generalize all women either, because I know there are some very tech savvy ladies that prefer it for many different reason. I'm just saying when I qualify a young lady looking to purchase an iPhone, this is what they tell me.

Because many women are like my wife. Whether it be a car, a large appliance, or a smartphone, all she concerns herself with is the aesthetics.
She ships cars based on color and attractiveness of the body shape. She never looks into reliability, function, warranty, mileage, or any important factor. It just had to look good.
We just bought a new fridge. What was her criteria? It has to be stainless steel. Nothing else mattered to her. Not energy efficiency, not volume, nothing.

lol, wow....I am educating my wife and now she has been seeing the iphone for what it truly is.
Her PC has only 250 GB of hard drive space and now she looking for something that actually fits her needs and not just something that is cheap.

One reason women like the phone is that it fits in their small and dainty hands....but, where I live I see a lot of women sporting Notes and SG2s.
So, women do like 'em big :-)
Honestly, women go with the trend and consult other women on what they like.
Who cares? Buy what you want and stop crying over it.
