WhatsApp beta for Android gets a Holo redesign
Share:
WhatsApp is one of the more popular cross-platform messaging apps, despite possible troubles with privacy laws, but anyone who has used the app knows that the UI is in desperate need of an upgrade. Luckily, it looks like just such an upgrade is on the horizon as WhatsApp beta for Android has gotten a very nice Holo-themed redesign, and adventurous Android users can grab it now if they want.
WhatsApp has been one of those sad apps where the UI was essentially ported from iOS, and hasn't taken advantage of the Android design language, but that is all about to change. The beta has gone with a full Holo-theme redesign, and we have to say that it looks quite good.
WhatsApp is currently free for one year, and 99 cents per year after that. If you've already paid, you won't have to pay again for using the beta version. As of right now, the new redesign is not in the Play Store, so if you want to try it out, you'll have to sideload it from the WhatsApp website.

Great!
Too many mainstream apps on Android look crap, we need more redesigns into the new design language.

Holo is one good style... simple and minimalistic and pleasing to the eye... Good thing whatsapp followed this design.... :)

I think it could look a little better than that.
