I think you mean September 25th for MMS, not October 25th. Please correct as I don't want to read a bunch of bitching below this message. lol

We apologize for the mistake. The iPhone's MMS feature is coming September 25.

I don't mean any disrespect to anyone iPhone owners or to At&t but does anyone know why it's taken a 3rd Generation phone to do something that has been available for ages (pardon the exaggeration!?

Cmon dude, It's аt&t ! Their network couldn't handle it. But they recently upgraded their network from older to old. in a few more years they'll reach the millennium year.

I kind of want to know the same thing. But just to point it out, Apple had it ready since March with the 2nd generation, which is still inexcusable though. I think it is just AT&T now. And I think that they are really struggling with all the iphones on their network. And its going to get worse when MMS comes. I expect to read an article about how much AT&T's data usage will change after the 25th. But hey, AT&T really wants another year of exclusivity, so I guess its doing more good than harm.

That is crazy it took so long. But I'll take the iphone over anything Verizon has to offer anyday. I never been this happy with a cell phone since I paid my Verizon termination fee, and my bill is cheaper.

It's pretty sad that they just got MMS now, but that being said the amount of stuff they have on their phones compared to what I can get on my crap Verizon phones outweighs this MMS oversight (which is now corrected anyway). I gotta say I was an iPhone hater for a long time, but I've come to realize that it isn't the iPhone alone that makes it such an appealing phone - it's the plethora of applications on a 16 million color, seamless touch integrated phone. Obviously the network is the bedrock of any good cellular phone which explains why I haven't jumped from Verizon just yet. When the iPhone came out the applications were weak and it wasn't much more than a music/video player with a crappy phone attached to it. But now there's a ridiculous amount of apps I'm fiending for. I checked Verizon's phone lineup - only 1 phone with 16 million colors and it isn't even a smart phone. I've held on top my Palm Treo 700w for the last almost-five years now. If the Palm Pre a) doesn't come out with a solid app lineup and exponential growth (as the WebOS was supposed to bring) or b) takes too long or God-forbid doesn't come at all to Verizon - I'm just going to have to jump ship. Applications make the phones these days. And most carriers (Verizon being the worst) just aren't cutting it.

Well said. I was a verizon customer since '98 and was hesitant to switch at first too because of Verizon's excellent customer service, but the iphone just can't be matched by Verizon/sprint/or Tmobile, or any other carrier.
