I apologize for this message not being quite fit for this article, but I am in need of some advice and I hope that someone can help. I am a Verizon customer and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me how I may be able to get the Palm Pre that comes out in January if I am eligible for a new phone in August, and my contract termination date is December 10th. Now, obviously I'd like to wait as long as possible to ascertain the best phone that I can, that will be coming out for the Holiday rush season... But I am STRONGLY compelled (though not married) to the idea of getting the Palm Pre that will come out in early 2010... So I guess my question comes in two parts. The first is obvious and I've been reading up on this website as well as others; what new smartphones can we expect to see come out in the fall or winter for Verizon? (this one I can manage on my own). The second is how can someone, who is waiting for a particular phone, delay the process of having to buy his "new every two" phone for a later date so that he won't have to spend the high amount of cash to upgrade at full retail price or buy a completely new contract? I'm going to try and ask this to their online help people, but I'd really also like some opinions from seasoned posters. Thanks to anyone who can help. I apologize again for misplacing this message, but I figured that it was the best place on this particular website... Thanks again!

First of all the pre might not be coming as soon as January. But anyways if the date of your new every two is not too far from the launch of the Verizon Pre, you can probably call customer service and have them make an exception for you (the longer you've been a Verizon customer, the more lenient they'll be even though it's not guranteed that they will do it regardless of how long you've been with Verizon). Another thing you can do is use the new every two of a family member or relative and let them use yours to buy a phone when yours comes up.

Like E.N. said, may be getting a "like Pre" and don't hold your breath for January
