Waze for Android receives update to match iOS version of the crowd-sourced navigation app

Google-owned Waze is a crowd-sourced navigation app that uses drivers' real time experiences on the road to help users reach their destination as quickly as possible. At the same time, users are alerted as to where the cops are hiding. Today, the Android version of the app has been updated to version 4.0 which is a cleaner, less cluttered version of Waze. It also allows Android users of Waze to have the same experience as iOS users of the app.

Besides the cleaner look, the updated version of Waze gives you quicker access to your destinations, and makes it easier to report traffic conditions to your fellow drivers. And with one tap, you can send your estimated time of arrival to someone waiting for you to arrive at your destination. The overall effect is a better driving experience for Waze users.

You can pick up Waze at the Google Play Store, where it is a free download. If you already have Waze on your phone, you can try to manually update the app by going to the Play Store. Click on the hamburger menu at the top left of the screen and tap on My apps & games. Scroll down to Waze to see if the update is available.
