its so popular because all the people that have never had a smartphone can use one without any real learning curve. its a smartphone for dummies. you don't need any real skill or knowledge to use it. so in a nutshell, you can be a dumbass, and still have something that "looks" cool. (thats if you like the design of a phone)

that is a terrible test. 1) He didn't start out with 4 bars, which already makes throws the test out the window. 2) Why was there no 3G or 1X symbol next to the bars? How about they use an actual person's phone. 3) With my phones i can make a call with zero bars. as long as it doesn't say searching for service, calls and text messages will go through. 4)I haven't seen/heard any complaints about this besides this test.

You sir pointed out exactly what I was thinking with the no 3G/1XEV sign next to the bars. And if there was no signal, the phone would have gone into roam mode as well (unless it was turned off that is). Fishy fishy.

If they had put this kind of effort into making a half decent phone, they wouldn't need to spend all this time and energy making death grip videos of their competitors products. Can we kindly put this well beaten horse in the ground, Apple? Every video they post just makes them look more juvenile. Oh, and can someone top off Steve's sippy cup?

I have 2 bars of reception in my store, it's made of brick, and has a fair bit of interference from fixtures, etc. I held my Droid X exactly as shown and.... my phone went UP TO FULL BARS! Fail. I'm sure there was some other interference being used for the video... Apple just needs to give up on this issue and take personal responsibility.

HA HA. I thought the same thing. Prime example of why punctuation and spelling are important. I like the "idont" towards the end. Talk about the ultimate backfire.

No, I think it's Steve Job's sex slave he brought in from a third-world country. He got tired of fucking Americans in the ass so he brought one in from elsewhere.

I have a droidx and i love it. But i just tried holding the phone the exact same way as the dude on the video did. And my phone went from 3 bars to no service. But it's only when you hold it so tight. I still love this phone though and ill never hold it tha t tight ever again

Why would someone give this comment a negative rating? I don't understand. Do you want me to post a video of my droid x loosing its reception when I hold it? wtf? lol.

These videos are hilarious and goes to show you that all phones when gripped around the antenna lose signal strength. What I did see was that the bars on the Apple and Blackberry dropped much faster than the others. Either way, Apple has given bumpers to help alleviate the issue and Android fanboys need to relax and spend more time talking about Froyo than Apple. I swear from some of these comments that you would think that the Apple was their girlfriend and she slept with their little brother, older sister, and father.

Yeah, but for most people, its not good enough to be happy and satisfied with their choices, whether its a phone, car etc.... Thats why many spend so much time attempting to validate their own choices by slamming others people choices and other products. Feeling superior is what its all about. Quite High Schoolish, but what can you say.

Wow! Apple, you should be a shame of yourself. First of all you can clearly see that he is squeezing the heck out of the droid X phone and, not on the "Apple Iphone" when holding it. And the fact that apple has to bring down other phones to show that there's are not the only one suffering the antenna problem shows how lame apple is. Just come out and confess that you made a mistake in putting an antenna over the Iphone 4 that's all. All I have to say is "Verizon Rocks" and "Droid Does" too. :)

ok, so I tried to recreate this on my Moto Droid X, and when I held my hand exactly like in the video, my signal actually went up from 4 to 5 bars! I then used my hands to cover the entire sides of the phone, repeated covering top and bottom and front and back with absolutely no change in signal strength. Just for the record.

Expecting a Corporation, any Corportation to come straight out of the blocks saying "We Blew it" without first trying to throw excuses and other reasons out in the hopes that something sticks, is akin to expecting a visit from the tooth fairy after you get your teeth knocked out in a bar fight. In other words........pretty damn slim

Oh really? When some new droid x users got models with faulty screens, moto said very quickly that yes, there were defective models, the problem had been corrected, and they were replacing bad models.

But the difference is that the droid x won't drop a call because of it. Apple = Fail
