It's true that when a company has to catch up, it needs all the exposure it can get. RIM's CEO, Thorsten Heins, seems to be realizing that so we're hearing about him relatively often...

Sure quality matters. But timing of launching a new service/OS/ feature/phone also does.

Really, if you've had a Blackberry or have one now, does "being cool" really enter into your reasons for wanting a smartphone? Isn't that what motivates shallow types? I believe Blackberry, now that they have new directors, have been changing so as to offer new, useful features on the upcoming Blackberry 10 devices. Who cares about "being cool" if your phone performs what you need it to perform in a technologically modern, efficient and effective way?

im pretty sure that BlackBerry 10 is awesome and has high standard of quality..
but im really excited of having BB10 device right now!!
but im pretty pretty sure that slow but surely will win the race!
BlackBerry and its Ecosystem will be ready for consumer's wants and needs when a BB10 device will arrive!

Im pretty sure bb will go bankrupt next year ! people were starting to switch to android or iPhone in my country ! good for me
also, 10 of my friends sold their blackberry and buy an android phone after they see what my gnex capable of :)
BB 10 Won't win over android and ios ! even rim's own ceo said that, "We have a clear shot of being a number 4 smartphone os"
RIM = Rest In Motion

i though that was what people hub did in windows phone, centralize the social networks....even though not everything is there, but the idea has been there
all the market share lost is the biggest testament that blackberry is doing bad, even though in the middle east it is still selling good.
many other operating systems had real multi-tasking such as webOS and meego, but they did not make it, why would it work for blackberry?
if RIM wanted to survive, they have to do something really innovative, something on par with Nokia's innovations....I think it is time they started paying to R&D
same goes to apple, where i live people started ignoring apple products
from his looks, i would say that guy is under really heavy pressure and responsibility

The latest numbers on smartphone shipments show that RIM, dispite not having new devices as of late, has passed Nokia. (Only Samsung and Apple are ahead of RIM.) If this is the case then I would give RIM at least a fighting chance with BB10 coming out next year. RIM is still hanging on.

A ceo is the face of the company. He looks ok despite the pressure. The stuff he said are another matter though....
