According to the Wall Street Journal, tomorrow Apple is going to introduce iOS 7 at WWDC. No surprise there; but the business paper has some information about what to expect from the revised UI. For example, according to insiders, the design features "plain solid backgrounds and more white space"...

Gonna take a complete redesign of the UI and a bigger screen to make me switch back to an iPhone.
And since iOS 7 is reported to be a rushed project and still feels incomplete, I'll just wait for iOS 8 next year.

Looks like they are aiming for nice bikini colors for icons from what we see in the article graphics.

New ways to share media = NFC and Wifi Direct, I would bet you $ on that.

And NFC been out for almost 2 yrs now.

So what? Who cares how long it's been out as long as its implemented right. No one in business even uses it anyway. When apple puts it to use, that's when businesses will take to it...as apple is the most heavily catered to tech company.

This is true, usually when apple add something it usually gets used due to just being apple..hopefully apple introduces NFC so it puts a spotlight on it and people know what it is..this way other platforms like android and wp etc will benefit from NFC being highlighted by apple..I just hope the hardcore apple fans don't start believing that apple invented NFC like they tend to do when apple makes something popular..would love for apple to allow nfc'ing photos etc to all NFC enables devices but doubt it but I'll be glad if apple does put NFC on the map for mainstream users so it gets more widely used and maybe some great apps etc will come out of it.

Exactly taz, you see my point. That post wasn't to diss android, it was simply to be honest. Apple is more heavily catered to than the others, and when they start using NFC it'll blow up. And you're rite apple loyalists had better not toot their own horn over it. The groundwork has been laid already for apple to "help" take it to new heights. Credit android for the foundation.

Yep these loyalist from all sides apple,Samsung,Nokia just annoy me and I know they shouldn't but I just can't believe there are people out there that are blinded by them..I just want to scream to them "they don't care about you, they care about your money"lol....really hope something comes out of NFC because it really is a useful tech that not many people know about or care anoit , the honest truth is unless someone like apples takes an interest in it chances are the tech will just stay a niche use which really means nothing.

Man you hit the nail on the head. Apple Sammy Nokia moto, and google are all the same, they want your money. People post "go Sammy we're android nation". All we are, are people with phones and tablets. I guess I'm a hybrid since I use both OS's. I dont see any one of these companies sending out loyalty checks.

Batter up apple. Time to dig in, swing only at strikes, nothing hight and tight, nothing low and away, and deposit it straight to center. Ios7 is hit hard hit deep, outta here it's a home run. Hopefully lol

Or, it goes past the foul line in left field and looking back in 5 years, historians mark this as the beginning of the end for Apple.

Step up time.... What can you do apple to top 4.2.2
9. darkkjedii (Posts: 20127; Member since: 05 Feb 2011)
Your statement is speculative dude. iOS 6 is better to those who prefer it. Android 4.2.2 is better to those who prefer IT. Apple needs to focus on iOS, not topping android. The users will decide what's better for them...obviously you chose android, just enjoy it dude flame wars can die.

Apple is between a rock and a hard spot. Almost everyone acknowledges the iOS UI is stale. I haven't seen much of a consensus regarding what the UI needs to be. There is a lot of opinion from the non-iOS community, but within the iOS community, the closest I have heard that could be a consensus is around functional areas (widgets, for example), but not UI (widgets could be implemented in the present iOS UI).
This is possibly the most anticipated WWDC event in the past 3 or so years. And there is probably the most that is riding on the success of the revised UI as well.
I hope Apple is able to get it right, but only time will tell.

Hm, I have a feeling it will look really crappy like Windows live tiles and the new gmail or Google play. Please stop this metro stuff. I actually like the current IOS icons, makes their screens look sharper than they really are. This new OS sounds like it will make their screens look the same as low res screens like with Windows Phone, you can't tell how nice or bad the screen is until you open an application.
16. darkkjedii (Posts: 20127; Member since: 05 Feb 2011)
Crappy? How so Taters? And lets be respectful about this please? No fanboy crap, I'm asking for your opinion.

I could be wrong but those signs with the color blobs and that IOS 7 logo looks very metro ish which I personally think looks too crappy and simple.
The old IOS icons look nice and sharp.
20. darkkjedii (Posts: 20127; Member since: 05 Feb 2011)
Agreed the sharp colored aspect should stay.
