Just look at iOS 6, almost all its features were ripped off on Android..

Wondering if facebook integration was a part of Android...Sony was first to integrate facebook deeply in their mobiles...

119. PapaSmurf posted on 20 Jun 2012, 09:05

I think HTC Sense was the first to integrate Facebook and Twitter in Android deeply. Could be wrong though.

118. microsoftnokiawin posted on 20 Jun 2012, 02:20 1

well almost all of android's features were ripped off maemo and symbian but these don't matter do they

it's competition try make new features while making up for other features that other phones have

9. bobfreking55 posted on 19 Jun 2012, 10:43 13 3

my god! everyone steals! every OS influences another OS just as much as anything else. stop this copying arguements. it's pointless.

apple is just a jerk for suing and suing, but in fact when they steal from others, they don't sue. that is the only issue.

they only counter sue

11. thedarkside posted on 19 Jun 2012, 10:47 1 4

i dont steal. so your statement is deemed invalid.

apple is suing everyone cause others are copying, and iphone came first then android came not the other way

106. plgladio posted on 19 Jun 2012, 21:07

Okay came first, did they stop updating? Copying is happening on the update.
One thing there is nothing like copy, everyone builds their own version.. Just an idea overcomes..

Expect to see more development on all fronts - this is the benefit for consumers of Apple making good on Steve's threat to go thermo-nuclear on Google for releasing Android. Apple is releasing Maps. Google is releasing a Siri competitor. And the consumer wins.

3. SuperAndroidEvo posted on 19 Jun 2012, 10:32 4 3

Did we forget about Majel? Google has been developing that for a very long time.

10. bobfreking55 posted on 19 Jun 2012, 10:44 4 3

Majel sounds better than Siri IMO

13. SuperAndroidEvo posted on 19 Jun 2012, 10:53 4 4

I know, people have forgotten that Google has been working on Majel with the Google X team for a long time. Apple beat them to the punch because they bought Siri from Nuance. No development from Apple there.

I have a feeling that Majel will be better than & will be able to do more than Siri.

+1 for you!

39. taco50 (banned) posted on 19 Jun 2012, 12:22 4 14

No development because they bought it? I guess Google did no development with android since they bought it.

55. SuperAndroidEvo posted on 19 Jun 2012, 12:48 10 3

lol Same old taco50. Google bought Android YEARS ago. Of course Google changed everything BEFORE it was released. That is called DEVELOPMENT.

Apple sees Nuance's product. Apple buys it, then slaps an Apple logo & calls it Siri. THAT is NOT development.

Apple NEEDED to do that because without Siri the Apple iPhone 4S would just have been an Apple iPhone 4 with a dual-core chip.

taco50 PLEASE try just a little bit harder. lol

59. iamcc posted on 19 Jun 2012, 12:56 5 2

He's trying hard that's the problem... He has nothing to work with so he's just spewing nonsense.

Typical...

62. SuperAndroidEvo posted on 19 Jun 2012, 13:03 5 3

I know, it's starting to not be fun proving taco50 wrong, these days.

It's like taking a beer from a baby! lol

yup. i just throw a random insult at him to keep some entertainment value. Of course, the little hippocrit baby reports every post I make, so i get my usual email warning when he cries wolf.

The same old generic and lame fanboy arguments get old after a while. Is it a sign of good things for us when all the trolls are still repeating crap from like 2010? lol.

dont forget the postcard app they added ;)

72. kingpet13 posted on 19 Jun 2012, 15:02 1 1

Taco, I already explained to you google bought a blackberry like OS. Than they completely redesigned it. I am sure that they, like apple were in some ways in spired by the prada and other touch screen phones, but in the end they developed a powerful and succesful os. Apple on the other hand bough Siri, changed some of its answers an if you trust the co founder of Apple who actually came up with thier original ideas, made it worse. So google developed android while apple undeveloped Siri. Buying something and changing the entire product to make it successful is innovative, buying something and making it worse is not.

121. PapaSmurf posted on 20 Jun 2012, 09:12

You wasted your time. Taco will still find a way to disagree with you even though what you said is the cold truth.

18. maxican16 posted on 19 Jun 2012, 11:22 1 1

I think this is what the WSJ is referring to. I'm wondering if we'll see something at Google I/O. Not that it's gonna "change everything"... I am fine not talking to my phone. Of all the 4s owners I know, none of them use siri.

4. Mitchel posted on 19 Jun 2012, 10:36 5 5

I'm pretty sure this will be better than Siri.. Google is more of an innovative compare to Apple (who bought Siri and messed it according to Apple co-founder Steve Woz).. Just look at Google Project Glass..

5. protozeloz posted on 19 Jun 2012, 10:37 1

hope is an actual full featured assistant that could hang on its sensors is more connected with other devices and the internet and provides actual support based in info it has gathered from you and acts a bit of its own, more like on the words of an actual assistant with an actual AI instead of a pre program ed thing that needs your input to be relevant instead of a

7. SlimSoulja86 posted on 19 Jun 2012, 10:38 5 6

Nobody is copying Siri, let all iFans know. It's now a lame excuse. Siri was an App like all other voice apps. So pls, no one is copying Siri. It's all called innovation, if yo competitor has something, u will also want to have it as well. End of story, or else there would be no Mac Pros and Air's, no iPad. All these devises are copies of someone else's inventions. So pls, someone who thinkings S Voice is a copy of Siri is plain stupid and knows nothing about innovation and the world of competitive marketing and the industry.

Apple fan, but I ain't stupid and one sides, I just luv technology and seeing other manufacturers innovating, cos at the end of the day, it benefits us the consumers.

I hate stupid ppl. It's easy and cheap to think, it don't cost a thing. But I guess stupid ppl let others thinking for them. There I said it. What?

14. Quezdagreat posted on 19 Jun 2012, 10:54 2 4

you guys never admit the obvious, you know if apple didnt come out with siri, google and samsung wouldnt try to make their own personal assistant.

16. protozeloz posted on 19 Jun 2012, 11:04 1 3

oh please ever heard g Google X? or the AI capable of Reading lips? or Google telling how much they want to build the start tech computer witch is also an assistant? or how they decided voice was a great input method for text? oh please....

19. maxican16 posted on 19 Jun 2012, 11:25

apple BOUGHT siri. The only benefit of them not coming out with siri would be that we wouldn't have to continually here how Google is trying to emulate it, even though Majel has been under development for quite some time.

21. Quezdagreat posted on 19 Jun 2012, 11:36 2 4

you're missing the point. why is google accelerating the producting of their personal assistant?siri. why is samsung branding their voice command on the galaxy 3 which we all know they already had on the galaxy 2?siri

23. remixfa posted on 19 Jun 2012, 11:37 5 2

why do trolls never get new lines or lines made in reality?

And, why is Apple going with a larger screen? Android

Why are they developing a stylus? The Galaxy Note

Why did they implement a drop down notification shade? Android

Why are they adding integrated maps/navigation? Android

29. thedarkside posted on 19 Jun 2012, 11:49 2 4

i dont think apple is bringing out a stylus with the new iphone.

and really? its not hard to develop a pen that doesnt write anything.

31. tedkord posted on 19 Jun 2012, 11:58 3 2

No, they're developing a stylus to use with the iPad. Considering that Steve Jobs said that a stylus = fail, where do you think that idea came from (six months after the Note launched)?

32. thedarkside posted on 19 Jun 2012, 12:01

lol silly me. my apologies. that makes more sense now.

30. Quezdagreat posted on 19 Jun 2012, 11:57 1 4

larger screen is quite obvious, but whos gonna suffer because theyre rapidly increasing screen size?android. i read that aplle filed for a stylus patent in 2010 which was before the note was revealed. youre right about the notification, but it wasnt always integrated.

33. tedkord posted on 19 Jun 2012, 12:04 4 2

Large screen is obvious now that Android made it popular. Prior to this year, SJ and the Apple faithful said that anything larger than 3.5" was a fail, was useless, was stupid.

I don't know what you mean "it wasn't integrated..." What wasn't?

And, if you want to interject that Apple filed for a patent for a stylus in 2010, then you should also take into account that Google was working on Majel (now assistant) since well before the iPhone 4s was released.

In fact, that's the reason Apple bought out Siri, and rushed it to release as a half-baked Beta (remember when people claimed that Apple didn't release Beta software, only finished, polished product?) To be first to market, so they could then claim Google copied.

EDIT: And, I just looked. Apple's optical stylus patent was file May 24th, 2012

38. Quezdagreat posted on 19 Jun 2012, 12:17 1 1

ok whats going to happen when they reach a max screen size for a phone? apple will be slowing increasing size to keep consumers intrested.

Apple cancelled the first patent i guess

http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/11/02/04/appl e_tablet_stylus_patent_filed_years_before_ipad_deb ut_may_boost_education_sales.html

i guess since jobs is gone they want to do it now

41. tedkord posted on 19 Jun 2012, 12:25 4 2

When they reach a max screen size, anything above won't sell and will die off. That's how competition works. Unless you're Apple, in which competition works by litigation.

The point is, Apple copies ideas all the time. Hell, they stole swipe to unlock off Neonode N1M, then patented it and use it to try to ban competitors for any kind of unlock. They actually claimed in court that tapping an unlock icon violates their swipe to unlock patent because a tap is just a "zero length swipe." With a patent on something they stole!

BTW, that patent you're talking about is for a simple capacitive stylus. The new optical stylus patent they applied for is for a stylus that does quite a bit more than just let you tap the screen, like the stylus for the Note.

45. Quezdagreat posted on 19 Jun 2012, 12:33 1 2

whatever they both are pins. if you dont patent it, its your fault, that goes for anything. it always happen.

61. tedkord posted on 19 Jun 2012, 13:02 2 1

Pins?

Yes, it does happen. However, most companies that patent an idea "borrowed" from someone else just license it. Apple tries to ban the competition. Why? Because they can't compete from a pure innovation standpoint.

Also, they're much more shameless with their claims. I don't see how any Apple supporter can not be embarrassed by the "zero length swipe" claim. Luckily, the US judicial system seems to be catching on to Apples antics.

67. remixfa posted on 19 Jun 2012, 13:55 4 2

id rather them get to "max screen size" and then have to wow us with actual new features and functionality instead of making a 0.5 inch screen jump the "big new feature" of the phone. Thats pretty sad when you think about it.

Hey, only what 5 years and 6 OS's to get you a new screen size? Man, you must be pumped! And your going to a 4 incher.. that was big in like.. 2010! At least your in the right decade for tech now, right? lol

73. Quezdagreat posted on 19 Jun 2012, 15:06 1 7

Ok I guess you would be satisfied when your android becomes the size of a tablet lmao. You want to be the moron who looks like he's holding a book to his ear

74. tedkord posted on 19 Jun 2012, 15:35 4 1

If its too big for me, I won't buy it. I'm not arrogant enough to say that my size phone is right for everyone. That's what an iPhone user does.

You know what looks moronic? That tiny little girl sized phone that doesn't even cover your ear. See how retarded that sounds?

82. Quezdagreat posted on 19 Jun 2012, 16:39 1 1

I don't mind a 4 inch iPhone. I'm just saying that androids are going bananas with these screen increases. I'm just saying I wouldnt buy a phone just because of it screen size. If I was into androids I would buy the new Xperia phone instead of a galaxy 3. I would not only buy it because it's smaller, I would buy it because it looks better.

Why do you need a phone to cover up your ear? All you need is the speaker. There's no need for a phone to cover half of your face. Have you ever heard of radiation?

120. thedarkside posted on 20 Jun 2012, 09:11 1

this sh*t is bananas. B*A*N*A*N*A*S!!

77. remixfa posted on 19 Jun 2012, 16:20 3 2

theres a big difference between holding a tablet to my ear and waiting 6 years for the darn thing to jump from a measly 3.5 inches to 4 inches. Typical nut job.. ya cant keep from going to extreme. My personal happy spot is going to be between 4.3 and 4.8 depending on how much bezel there is. The note is nice, but i think its just too big for me.

84. Quezdagreat posted on 19 Jun 2012, 16:57 1 1

Ok here you go again thinking that apple is trying catch up with android. Personally I wanted the 4s to have a larger screen, I got it because I upgraded from a 3GS.

I knew you max screen size would be 4.8 because of the galaxy 3, I bet you're going to get the galaxy 4 when it has a 5 inch screen.
