Vodafone's chief executive, Vittorio Colao, isn't sitting around the sidelines anymore watching things go by without any say in the matter of their stake in Verizon Wireless...

Verizon is closed off to any 3rd party apps or downloads if you don't have a smartphone meaning all customization goes thru them, for a fee. This is a fact for PapaJay to ponder on while I continue to say vzw sucks

I had to do a double take at that comment, did you really just say that?? Are you honestly getting mad you cant download opera mobile on your lg rumor????? Dude.............

ya and their fee is very affordable...its not like they're asking 20 dollars per app silly don. vzw ftw.

What about BREW, what about emailing yourself ringers and games? Can you download Apps from several stores on your Sprint phone? from previous comments Don you have complained about how Verizons Rates are too high and how Data has alwways been your problem. It sounds like you cant even really afford the solutions your quik to judge about..How many apps do you have on your phone? and again how much do you pay per month? If your THAT into APPS you WILL buy a PDA plain and simple...NO ONE owns a REGUALR phone so they can download APPS they buy regular phones to do less expensive things.

It's bigger than that, ringtones, games and screensavers too but Opera Mini is the shit for dumbphones. All of vzw love for the walled in network can only extend so far, continue to think I'm silly for enjoying my savings and open carrier

well don, i think if someone wanted to have opera mini on a phone they would go for a bb or pda, not a dumb phone....and i wouldn't join sprint even if they gave the service to me for free hehe...SPRINT NEEDS A MINT CAUSE THEIR SERVICE STINKS. :-P... P.S. sprint commercials suck. AT&T FTW.

While you enjoy your savings, I will enjoy my 3G coverage and working blackberry. But hey, you have paperweight mode on your sprint dumbphone!

Opera Mini is for dumbphones, Opera Mobile is for RIM and WinMo. If the only service you know is vzw, what reference point is there to say Sprint stinks. It must be the price, the all inclusive plans that can be used w/any device from a dumbphone to feature phone to smartphone to RIM at no extra cost, the fact that outside downloads can be done, the reliability or the speed that makes Sprint stink. I am not going to let a commercial dictate my choice in carrier because if that were the case I would with sparse 3G T Mo, unreliable and expensive att or expensive vzw

sorry to tell you but opera mini is for blackberries. mine says "opera mini." well you get what you pay for...and i've told my story before, me and my 5 buddies took a drive from new york to tampa. i have vz and so do three of them. the other has sprint and the other has tmo. and i had service almost all the time, even on the back road saffaries we took lol..i mean have you seen how much money verizon invests on builing new cell sites and maintaining them in specific regions around the country? or how prepared they are for natural disasters, such as hurricanes? in my opinion verizon is the most reliable. now i am happy there is competition in the cell phone industry to expand wireless technology, but all i'm saying is verizon has the best coverage. SPRINT FTW.

ITS EXPENSIVE BECAUSE IT WORKS!!!! Go buy a product from the .99 store (where no one shops BTW) and tell me how long a product will last, than go buy the SAME name brand product where the company has enough money in builing a solid device and tell me how long THAT lasts....Your Cheap, bottom line Louie and your opinion is completely biased on cost alone, not on quality...

score Papa=1 Louie=0....anybody else keeping track?
30. ICanAffordVZW posted on 20 Sep 2009, 13:51 0 0
Louie gets a negative point for even arguing the point that Sprint is in the same league as AT&T and VZW...Sprint filing chapter 11 FTW!!!

I'm keeping score too but as of now it's all noise, I just go to funformobile or 3gforfree for my ringtones, screensavers and games and leave my emails for other stuff. Love that weak "get what you pay for" because I get service everywhere I want it while saving plenty and when a smartphone comes out that appeals to me I won't be paying any extra, can you all say the same with your carrier?
35. Vlondril posted on 21 Sep 2009, 11:10 0 0
if thats what works for you....guess you dont travel....
36. vzw fanman posted on 21 Sep 2009, 12:23 0 0
well don, i guess you don't travel much. i paid 199 for my bb storm. for a phone that will last for 2 years i dont see what the big deal is.
38. PapaJay224 posted on 21 Sep 2009, 13:02 0 0
Yeah because FunFor Mobile is restricted from VZW how? Man you are such an idiot...I get you like Sprint, I get that, but you have nothing to say about Verizon thats actually accurate, I follow your posts frequently to see your poisen floating threw the room...Everyone here disagrees with you. Your opinions are biased but have no edge or backbone, you just "say things". Closed Network, Further than ringtones, Its not this, its not that, WHAT IS IT? SAY SOMETHING FACTUAL!!!!! You hate VZW because you work for Sprint. THATS ALL! JUST SAY IT!
37. DonLouie posted on 21 Sep 2009, 12:56 0 0
I go to MI, IN, TN, GA, KY and NV but based in IL, you blowhards continue with the extremely weak and unmerited network claim to justify the added cost for smartphones with a very restrictive UI to go along with no outside downloads without some silly work around. Best believe if my coverage for voice or data I wouldn't be touting anything but that isn't why I don't like vzw, thier policy that anything you want on the phone has to go thru them at extra cost and how the Premium plan can't be used on any smartphone
40. Vlondril posted on 21 Sep 2009, 16:13 0 0
figures....you only travel in sprint specific markets..haha
