I don't get why American carriers can't adopt a similar pricing structure!!! It makes perfect sense to offer better prices on great devices on more expensive plans! If somebody were to be persuaded to get. More expensive plan for a cheaper price on a better phone, they will make itup fast...

I think it's better the way it is (or I should say it was before). Having expensive plans would not be good because people who don't know how to use a smartphone or don't want to buy an expensive phone wouldn't be happy with an expensive plan. Plus it's much easier to pay $200 for a phone and not worry about it rather than paying $70 - $100 every month as compared to $25 - $60 monthly (in Canada).

You guys in US are still lucky because the contract period is only two years. In Canada, it's 3 years and we can't upgrade within 30 months of a smartphone purchase. That's harsh!

Although, I can't wait for this phone to come to me
