Vlingo brings speech navigation to Blackberry

Vlingo brings speech navigation to Blackberry

Vlingo is a new speech recognition program for the Blackberry Pearl, Curve and 8800 series. It allows users to control many of the phone's applications simply with their voice. For example, the user can say "chili in Cincinnati, OH" and vlingo will search the web for results. More impressive is its ability to translate dictated messages, email, tasks and calendar appointments. We've seen other applications that do this, such as Voice Control for the Palm OS, but at least from the demos, vlingo seems to be a very accurate and easy to use solution. In addition, Yahoo has recently tapped the company to add speech recognition to their oneSearch application. Blackberry owners in the US and Canada can download the free program from vlingo.com.

I just wished this worked thru your bluetooth and on my 8320 it is not allowing me to use my edge/gprs to use the program and I don't have wifi everywhere I go, any suggestions

I am a dedicated Windows Mobile user. I still can't see myself using a Blackberry but a friend of mine downloaded this app to his Curve. I have got to say that this one HOT app. Very precise ( very few mistakes ). Sigh.... Just wish Microsoft ( or VZW ) would get on the ball with Windows devices.

As a former windows mobile fan....give it up already. Windows mobile blows!! I got my 1st blackberry back in January and will never look back!! SOOO much more stable..EVERYTHING about a blackberry is better. Im on VZW also
