Vivo Xplay 3S phone 2560x1440 pixels screen snapped on a testing mule, looking huge

0. phoneArena 23 Oct 2013, 04:08 posted on

Vivo is not doing a great job at keeping its plans secret, as its Xplay 3S phone screen just got pictured on prototype, wrapped in a testing mule parphernalia. The phone is supposed to be the first handset with 2K HD screen, meaning we will have 2560x1440 pixels display. From the looks of it, the display size is huge, which leads us to the thought that Vivo might indeed be equipping its handset with something like LG's 5.5" 2560x1440 pixels display with 538ppi, so the Xplay 3S will actually be a phablet. Sharp also flaunted a 6.1" IGZO screen, but with 2560x1600 pixels of resolution, so Vivo's triumph at the screen resolution top might be short lived, if it outs the Xplay 3S before anyone else...

This is what all said when 1080P released !
Now looking to 720P and 1080P we can feel different clearly..while comparing to 720p , it looks a bit blurry now !
Its not a gimmic !

And from 2014 all flagship will be using 2K s
Display

The most common 4K res is UHD, 3840 x 2160,
So FHD, 1920 x 1080 is pretty much 2K

Personally I think 1080p is enough for ~5" screens

I'm sorry my friend, but you see it wrong. People were positive about 720p, that it is very good. Yet HD on 4,7 - 5' came with about 300-320 ppi, and as human eye can see details till about 340-360 ppi - FullHD actually MAKES difference. Im not saying 2k or 4k is worong, NO ! But 2k and 4k on a device like this, giving automatically ppi bigger than 500 ??? Sorry.... that's a gimmick to me ! I would love to have 17' 2k on my laptop, to have my ppi around 340, because that makes sense, as for a 7-8' device - NOT !

Phones with a 720 resolution do not look blurry. Not even when compared to 1080 phones. That's just nonsense.

Dat bezel must not land on the final product.

Anyway, that resolution on a small screen would be like having quad-core i7 running solitaire - it makes no sense.

you guys should stop whining. 720p is not sharp and is clearly visible when compared to 1080p. this 4k resolutions are a plus. there is nothing wrong with a sharp screen....if apple adapts 1080p on the iphone all of you will go like wow! 1080p is soooooo coooool
