The article is fact based and not an advertising spiel. VirginMobile simplified its Paylo plans with $20, $30, and $40 plans. Btw, VM had being offering, unlimited data, unlimited text and 300 minute for its "smartphones" for the Beyond Talk program.

Meh, I don't see why to jump on this plan unless you constantly find that 1500 text and 1500 minutes is not enough for you....

Not altogether a bad thing...my sister is so disinterested in anything pc/techno, and only ever calls or texts, so there are those out there that this would work for. Also good to see that side of the market hasn't been forgotten-I know I struggled to find a plan for my folks a couple of months back, that allowed for very little usage, without paying for more than they'd ever need. I finally heard about Tracfone's SVC phone and plan designed for seniors. They can pay as little as $7/month for enough minutes to satisfy their needs, and the senior-friendly phone that would hardly get much use only cost around $15. Good call by Virgin Mobile to recognize this side of the market.
