The ViewSonic VSD241 is obviously a romantically named device, but there is more that you’d think beneath the surface…

I can see a situation where a corporation sets up a virtual desktop, say, windows 8 and this screen can Remote Desktop of Terminal Service into that virtual machine. Great for training, In a corporate sense it means that the MIS manager can administer local and allow access remotely. Typing this comment using a tiny ultrabook and a large screen connected into a virtual workstation at the office. This would take the ultrabook out of the equation.. I am looking forward to pick up one of these the moment it hits distribution and then 7 more for training purposes if it works well.. Imagine a class where there are no thin clients or computers on the desktop, just a screen with wireless keyboard and mouse. Very minimalist, and yet, you have through a server (VMware or Hyper-v) access to discreet and secure workstations that can be set up with the training syllabus.. Easy setup and teardown, very clean look, very efficient teaching.
