SM-G950 is reportedly the model number of the Samsung Galaxy S8. A video discovered online apparently shows Samsung's upcoming flagship handset registering a spectacular score of 205,284 on the AnTuTu benchmark site. That would make the Galaxy S8 the new top scoring phone, taking over from the Apple iPhone 7's 181,807. The top Android model has been the OnePlus 3T, powered by the Snapdragon 821 SoC. That phone tallied 162,423...

iphone or samsung, does not matter. Antutu is a useless benchmark (for total score). Always look at memory, flash and GPU performance separately.

It's not out of the realm of possibility. My old Note 4 gets about 65k on antutu. The new 835 chipset and GPU is more than twice as powerful on paper. Looks like its measuring up in synthetic tests.

Bodes well.

And, at the end of the year, Samsung will have the phone named best of the year. Yawn.

Not last year hahahahahahaha

Actually, iPhone 7 and Pixel were named best of year by the most unbias of all - MK

Yes, last year and the year before. You don't have to like it, you just have to live with it.

It better because it would be a shame if it did not beat a 2k res phone with a 720p and 1920p resolution.

I know it is a troll comment because most phones these days are just fine but that troll deserved a reply.

Except getting the resolution right (1920p is almost 4k) :).

Resolution has little to do with actual performance unless you are gaming. A S7 at 720p outside of gaming literally performs the same as a S7 at 1440p

This is such a terrible misconception that needs to die already

Bechmark scores, personally I wonder, there has to be a way to monitor fps on phones, doing that + subjecting it to actual usage, actual games, e.t.c. would give a much better idea then benchmark scores.

So, Apple A11 will score like 125k.

The A10 scores 185K already, so I assume you're referring to the A9. The A11 will probably hit 250K, but that doesn't really matter.

Ooops, i meant 225k, since the score is 20k higher from 821 to A10 and A10 to SD835

Brand new PowerVR 8xt series is alone going to provide a big boost to the score in the A11. The A10 is still using the same GPU as the A9 but just clocked faster. Next GPU in the A11 is going to be a brand new generation GPU

And another 30-35% CPU perf increase for the A11 CPU will put it close to it. Guranteed you

Best score for A10 on AntuTu is around 195K

Samsung needs to release the Galaxy S series around the same time as the iPhone so the itards don't circle jerk as much as they currently do.

Yep... the Galaxy Note series are more respectable than the S series...
and rightfully so.

The Note is boss!

True but they don't release two different Exynos chips anymore. They just use the same chip as the Galaxy S or the same chip the pixel uses.

I want to see how powerful their bread and butter SOC with late gen technology is. The Note is too niche to go all out on.

i don't believe any of these synthetic benchmarks, in real terms these devices behave and act totally different and speeds are only marginally better.

i am looking forward to the s8+ and it will no doubt be an absolute beast but in real terms it wont be much faster then the s7 edge, u cant go much quicker then instant and thats how most phones react anyhow

I gotta wonder how TW will affect the performance. No matter how much Samsung refines it, it still seems to get slowdowns. Could also be due to the SD chip.
