Video confirms some of the new features coming to WhatsApp
The video shows how different alarms can be set for individual or group conversations and how individuals on your contacts list can each have their own background. Just the other day, we touched upon some of these new features and showed you some screenshots related to the update. Now you can see some of them in action on this video.
There still is no word on when the update will make it out of the private beta it is in, but there are some who expect to see the update taking place imminently, which would obviously be good news for Windows Phone users.

on my note 3 it takes less than half a second, same as the lg g2 and note 2 my wife had before. It is not like it is a 2gb HD game!

Lol, first of all, i don't hate the platform you're using, weither that is iOS or Android or Blackberry 10 or whatever. But before posting something like that you should keep in mind that that is a Lumia 820 right there, with the old Snapdragon S4 Soc. The Note 3, the Note 2 and the LG G2 comes with HIGH END specs. You should know that the Snapdragon S4 isn't a high end Soc. Whatsapp is just lazy to write good code for the platform. Back in those days of the S4 previous year my 920, and yeah it comes with the same specs as the 820 except a higher resolution screen etc, it loaded Facebook 'Beta' faster then the S4 of my father. Yes i am a Windows Phone fanboy, and again, i don't hate other OS's, just stop the typical fanboyism. I hate to see every time negative comments about this, about that. I'm sure you are a full grown man/women, just don't act like a child who says this is better and can't agree that other things are good too!

The reason is due to wp's multitasking processes. In android when u press the home button the app doesnt close and runs in the background and when u click on the app again it resumes immediately unlike windows phone (8.1 will bring the feature of apps running in backgrnd like android). So as a result the app loads all the data it has saved in the storage (chats, pics etc) and that is why it takes so long to load. Wp 8.1 is reported to change the way apps interact, so we may be able to see apps load faster now.

i don't understand why people criticize tech growth, let it grow and mature options/competition is always better for the consumer end.

It's 2014 I think it's ridiculous to still be waiting for basic features like real multitasking
