Video brings sneak peak of Apple iPad 5, compares it to previous model
A video posted on YouTube gives a sneak peak of the structure of the Apple iPad 5, comparing the unannounced tablet with the Apple iPad 4 and the Apple iPad mini. As we've already seen from previous comparisons, the Apple iPad 5 takes many of its design cues from the Apple iPad mini including the separated volume rocker controls, the stereo speakers and the more rounded corners.

In addition, the next gen iPad is thinner and lighter than its predecessor. However, when an Apple iPad 4 was taken apart and the components placed inside an empty iPad 5 shell, it revealed that the battery from the older model takes up more space. That means that Apple probably had to use its shoe horn to squeeze in an improved battery and the rest of the iPad 5's innards.

All of the component shrinking that Apple has to do for the next iteration of its 9.7 inch slab could lead to a delay in production of the tablet, according to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Both the Apple iPad 5 and the Apple iPad mini 2 are expected to be powered by a new A7x processor and should be unveiled around the middle of next month.

If you want to see how how much the Apple iPad 5 resembles the Apple iPad mini with its new design, and are also interested in seeing how thin and narrow the new full-sized Apple slate will be, check out the video below.
