Vertu should make a phone upgrade bussiness .
Bring on any phone , gs3 , one x , iPhone and they will bling it up for you .
Maybe change the screen to sapphire , diamond home button , titanium housing etc

I've thought about that for a long time, it makes no sense to release a blinged out crappy phone. They should take the latest and greatest hardware and make it a their own.

Well, you have seen expensive watches as well havnt you? End of the day - a 10 dollar fake Chinese watch and an expensive Rolex tells the same time and serves the same purpose.
Products like this are for the rich and famous to show off and stand apart from the lesser mortals like us. It will have a market of its own irrespective of the practical purpose.

Rolexes and Seikos comes with functional quality with the thousand dollar price tags. The watch will work and remain functional for a long period of time, that's an investment. The phone can be made of diamond but if the internal hardware can't handle the evolution of software upgrades then it pretty much renders the phone useless when it becomes the slowest lagging brick

Agreed. If anything they should be bleeding edge with that cost.
Being underpowered actually makes using the device a bad experience no matter how great it looks or feels.

Man who thought about this abomination!? If I were to look at the phone in person I'm sure that uncontrollable laughing would ensue.
